Seeing Todd Hamilton on the list of tee times made me wonder, who is the biggest fluke winner ever in a major championship?
Limited to modern times, last 40 years or so I will say:
British - Todd Hamilton, although Van de Velde would have topped him. Would have said Paul Lawrie, but he made the Euro Ryder Cup team last year . . .
US Open - Lucas Glover (Andy North a close 2nd, although if you win it twice, hard to say it was a fluke)
PGA - YE Yang (1st time EVER that Tiger had coughed up a Sunday lead in a major, and has not won one since)
Masters - Larry Mize comes immediately to mind, although Trevor Immelman has been a goner for many years now as well. Think he had a ton of injuries
