Pearl and Cohen had a huge falling out over politics. This was a "mutual" parting of ways! We all know who Cohen will come after for next season.
I was just typing up a tongue in cheek post basically saying Pearl and Cohen do not see eye to eye politically. But if the money guys had to choose between Pearl and Cohen, I think Cohen is the one who would be packing.

Pearl isnt shy about putting his pro-Trump political views on social media, though, and I dont know if he said anything too controversial recently.

I'm hearing Pearl will have some serious issues with the Republican US senate nominations because of his recent past monetary donations as a Democrat.

Stay tuned.

Not really a secret. It's been widely reported in the last few months. Donations to multiple democratic candidates both in Alabama and other states. The state Republican party bans you from the ballot for six years if you make a donation to a Democrat. And you know how political parties are. No way they break/change their own rules!

Wow, thats crazy- just 6 weeks or so before the start of the season.
He oversaw what was probably the most successful decade Auburn has ever had in basketball(time for people to actually look it up and tell me how wrong I am).

That is a helluva position to step into as a son and first time head coach.
Bruce did this on purpose at this time so Cohen had really no choice but to hire the assistant.
But, they didn’t put an interim tag on him. Gave him a 5 year deal.

Wait a second, they gave pearl jr a multi year contract?! Cohen is an idiot. Why not just make him the interim one year and see how it goes?

I guess they expect Bruce to continue to contribute if that's the case. Kind of like AB coming to practice and now we're much improved. That being said, a game plan is only good for the start. We'll see how good of a floor coach he is

Conspiracy theory. Saban and Harbaugh forced to step down. Michigan caught cheating. Bama caught cheating but nothing public. Tubberville for governor.

Was Saban in DC recently? 🤔🤔🤔

Tuberville is running for governor. Looks like Pearl is going to run for the Senate.
Who is Pearl going to replace? Katie Britt or Tuberville?

IMO.....he ain't beating this.......1758591795435.png

Cohen gives a 5 year contract to Mini Pearl, and Bruce stays employed by the athletic department making it impossible tobfire the son.

Is Cohen actually doing anything over there?

Bummer--Baker-Mazara's out of eligibility so we can't snag him.**********************
He is so old and has played so long, that Ontario Harper is even side-eyeing him.

Baker-Mazara played 1 season at Duquesne, 1 season at San Diego State, 1 season at JUCO, 2 seasons at Auburn, and will now play 1 season at USC.
That is 6 seasons of playing- like full playing. None are redshirts or medical waivers.

It is insane that he is still around. The guy will be 26 years old when he takes the court this season. 26!

For those not in the know- he gets to waive his first season due to the covid exemption since it was the 20-21 season. And he is waiving his JUCO season due to the NCAA's temporary waiver that allows athletes who played a season in non-NCAA schools(JUCO or NAIA) to complete a 4th season of NCAA competition.
