Leading by two with just under 4 seconds remaining
SHU Commits a foul on a three point attempt and the DePaul player converts all three for a DePaul one point lead

Hall guard drives to the basket and has the ball swatted away at the backboard as the game ends
First it looks like a DePaul win, put up on the tv as such

Then one official calls a goal tend , Hall looks to be the winner, put up on the tv as such

Upon reviewing, no goal tend, the Hall loses

This Watchel is approaching Jerry Palm status with this nonsense. SHU was in the next 4 out starting the day, now it's a bad loss??.....LOL

Seton Hall had no business beating RU, if they didn't play us after the stolen victory at Ohio State.....is Ohio State now a better win because they beat Wisconsin??

This was exact reason for hating this moving score and having it such a rigid structure. I still think how a team is playing and where they are ranked at the time you play them matters. Same as missing key players and all other legitimate considerations.
Hopefully the selection committee does this. But these metrics need tweaking.

I don’t think the structure is actually that rigid. If you’re going to have categories then there will be a border between them but the committee can still see the actual rankings of the teams you played and it’s not going to make a gigantic difference if someone moves from 74 to 76

“Bad loss” is being used very loosely here. Michigan losing at home to Central Michigan is a bad loss. @Minnesota is our worst loss and they’re 98 spots higher in the NET than CMU.

Agree
Too negative
He’s trying too hard to seem unbiased towards RU

The DePaul player initially block the ball before it was over the rim but his hand stayed on the ball as it was over the cylinder. Is that goal tending?

Brad Watchel, an old RU basketball staff member under Eddie that Steve told thanks but no thanks. Pretty sure his job since then has been play video games in his basement and do bracketology. Guy says RU hasn’t been enough for 4 years now and we’ve probably had NCAA seasons all 4 years

If they truly dig that deep. The tune of how teams are selected has sure seemed to change this year with a lot more "consideration" vs. Just last year which was NET, NET, AND NET.

I have not been in a fight since sixth grade, but I want to fight him. . . . 😁

He graduated in 2005? How old was he when he graduated? 30?

(nevermind.. saw video link above.. DePaul W-- though uncalled travel receiving pass on that first three)

was the goaltend in lieu of a foul not called? I hate when replay does that.. like when they don't call a foul late that causes the ball to go out-of-bounds.. so they call the ball for team that got fouled to be more fair... then they go to replay and cannot call teh foul and give the ball to the team that fouled.

I don’t get caught up in this guys tweets.

I get he’s a self-proclaimed “bracketologist” but I don’t need him to tell me everything is fine after we blow it to Minnesota while tonight he wants us to hit the panic button because Seton Hall lost to DePaul lol.

Yeesh. Brutal is an accurate description.

no one discussed if the SHU player got fouled it seems the block was legal no foul

The only concern was if it was a goal tend
To me, it looked like it was not that

Or Iowa losing to eastern Illinois who is 345 in the Net , or Kentucky losing to a South Carolina at home , a Quad 4 and a really bad loss. Or Arizona State losing to Texas Southern who is 8-20. Those are bad losses. This focusing on the Quad system and placing teams in Quads is arbitrary and deciding not based on how they perform or what Quad they are in if it is a good or bad win or loss has become ridiculous.
Plus losing by 20-30 even to a conference foe , which would be a Quad 1 or 2 loss most nights , is also a really bad loss.

Rutgers has 1 bad loss Minnesota and that was our own fault after dominating the first 39 minutes of the game . Seton Hall, Nebraska when we played them and Temple when we played them are not bad losses. But more diligence needs to be done before you whack a team with a loss and label it.
How the term is being used by bracketologists is wrong , contrary to logic and irresponsible and they should be called out for it. I have done my part by tweeting at Wachtel for his latest bad take. I suggest you all do the same.

Losing to Seton Hall at home scoring 46 points is a bad perception loss locally and a precursor of four additionaal losses at the Rac.Rutgers has a 6-4 home record against B1G Ten teams which won't be considered favorably by NCAA selection committee. You are what your record says you are.

Agreed, using where a team is when you play them makes much more sense than where the team is at the end of the season. Teams change
There is no better example than us.

Getting 46 against the Hall shows what we are

A weak, or at least inconsistent, offensive team

Sometimes we get away with it, other times not
Again, you don’t 35% your way very far
