KM wins by as much as they want to. The Kings Mountain Mountainers are the elite teams in 3A. I will say KM has great looking facilities! Coach Lloyd and all the other coaches there do a great job preparing there team week in, week out! Great group of guys to hang out with too!

I think this game could go either way. Burns has an outstanding offense and a great defense. Burns has athletes all over the field the only thing I don’t know about Burns is there D-line and O-line. I have seen them play in a 7 on 7 during the summer and they looked great offensively and defensively. I think this game will come down to the wire.

The D Line is playing well and O-Line really stepped it up last night. Although the crest D line wasn’t hitting on much. We was easily getting in the backfield all night though defensively. I’m with BBB on this one…we have a couple kids more than usual playing both ways for us this year. The kids have to take care of their bodies away from practice an school and be hydrating, especially this time of year. I like the way Burns is playing. The defense is flying around and that’s what we really needed to see. KM has the ability to attack both running and passing. It should be a good one

**I'll post the same thing here that I posted on the 2A thread.....**

KM got a statement win in Week 1. Burns got a statement win in Week 2. Who gets the statement win in Week 3?

This should be a fantastic game Friday. But its a much bigger hill to climb for Burns than it will be KM. Burns is coming into KM a little banged up after the Crest game.

KM should be favored at home but overlooking Burns any at all isn't a good idea. The Mounties have just as many skill position weapons as Burns does so to me it's which OL and which defense plays the best. Should be a fun one. No prediction from me til Friday 😁

I’d have to give the edge to KM in this one.

Burns has it all except depth. Definitely one of the most talented Burns team ever. Burns started wearing down against a very young and not so physical Crest team that lacks depth as well. Crestuff nailed it - Burns back 7 can flat out play. The offense is balanced run/pass with a very good QB, RB, WRs and decent OL. This is a legitimate 2A state championship team. I could be wrong but looking at the roster - this is the year to win it all. Next year looks very promising but Thompson, Haynes, Allen, Surratt, and Hopper will be missed.

KM on the other hand can match athletes and are just as physical with a big athletic OL, a very good and mobile QB, a speedy, shifty RB and some really good WRs. The KM defense looks to be for real with size and speed. KMs offense is balanced as well. The OL looks big, athletic, protects the QB and really get after it pulling, trapping and execution.

I can’t wait to see this one. Man this should be a good one. I give KM the edge in coaching - Lloyd and his experienced staff and total team depth should prevail in a close one. IMO and idk much - turnovers, penalties and coaching should be the difference.

Good luck to both teams and hoping it’s an injury free game.

The depth of the Bulldogs is definitely something to keep in mind. Geter going down and his status up in the air as of now is a big pill to swallow. I think this games goes tick for tack and it’s going to come down to who controls the line of scrimmage.

I believe this is one the best matchups to see. If I wasn’t working I wouldn’t mind seeing this game. As for the game I think it could be close and could go either way.

I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like the next 2 weeks has a chance to cause some injuries to us. Playing 2 big teams with a lot of depth (KM and Watauga). Luckily, after the Watauga game, we shouldn't be challenged until the Shelby game at the end of the year. So it should give us plenty of time to rest and heal players. And possible get some inexperienced guys some playing time to help build that depth for the rest of the year and next year.

I agree but if they pull this off they should be able to sit people and get healthy in that conference..they can cover man to man and load up the box..
You’re right man. I was speaking of this particular game. The starters for Burns are straight up legit.

But, behind them I didn’t see much. Kings Mountain is deep. It’s going to be hot.

I almost want to see it. But, I’ll be in my spot.

I thought Kings Mtn, had the perfect game plan against Shelby. Their coaches were spot on and I am sure they will have another good plan against Burns. HAve not seen Burns but KM really looked good. They had athletes all over the field.
Wont predict who wins but should be a close game.

KM's defense is legit, they can rush the passer and play the run and defend with their DB's. They didn't run the ball against Shelby as good as AC did. AC did have a killer RB that we couldn't stop. KM's QB isn't mobile we just didn't pressure him at all, so he didn't have to move. He did throw the ball very well and really didn't hardly miss a throw all night. I disagree about the coaching staff and I know Lloyd has beaten us a few times lately. However KM has been loaded with talent for years and they tend to lose the big ballgames. Who knows about this week.

Looking forward to the game. A lot of good players will be on the field for this one. A few of the Burns kids played on the same youth teams in KM with many of the Mountaineer players. KM is ready and I believe the KM kids will play really well tomorrow night.

The KM TEAM and FANS welcome THE MIGHTY BULLDOGS and their FANS to JOHN GAMBLE STADIUM this friday nite . This is another county game between two UNDEFEATED TEAMS should be a good one.
Nice field....wish Fisher was a Burns fan then we would have turf paid for by the CC tax player. 😀

From looking at both teams, they match up in different ways. The skill players for burns look like they can have the advantage. My question is will the quarterback have enough time to make those throws. I also think KM can win the battle against the defensive line Burns has. They have a few big guys but they don’t look very mobile and get off slow in the interior of the defensive line. If burns can slow the run down then they will have chance to win. This should be a great game!

Why we are in this particular battle we’ll never know. But one thing i know is that the Burns Bulldogs will emerge victorious once again.

KM 7-0 halftime
KM dominating yards and time of possession but have missed some opportunities. Burns had a big interception at the KM 5 yard line that stopped a KM offense that was rolling at that time. Burns defense seemed to adjust to KM offense about half way through 2nd quarter.
Burns offense is struggling with speed of KM defense. KM is not giving Burns qb Mauney much time. KM defense has sacked Mauney five times already. Burns seemed to find some running room after the big Burns interception. KM defense held Burns on a big 4th down late in 1st half and then drove the ball down inside the Burns 25 yd line. Burns defense then stepped up and held KM out of the end zone. Burns partially blocked a KM field goal attempt as the half expired. KM gets ball to start the 2nd half.
