All of these commitments are being released early as a safety valve in case our football season goes into the tank. This would be some convenient propaganda in favor of keeping Croom on GP.
I'm buying.
I'm buying.
Todd4State said:that most of these players know where they are going, and I am also willing to bet that most of these recruiting experts at least kind of know where they are going as well.
Our recruits will be recruited by others no matter when they commit- see Chris Garrett.
All I'm saying is I could see Gene doing something like release our commitments early just in case we have a 3 win season, so that people would be, yeah our season is horrible, but look at all the great recruits we've got coming in.
I find it odd that we have so many commitments so early. Maybe it is because we are recruiting differently. Maybe I'm just not used to us recruiting period.</p>
Todd4State said:I'm not saying that the AD can release the names, but Gene can, and does. Gene is supposedly the voice from inside the AD, and I imagine that he would be very willing to release or not release commits when/if the AD/Croom wanted him to. Obviously that wasn't too clear.
I'm just not used to all of the changes going on. It's weird. We have a baseball coach that gives a **** about something other than trying to fight the NCAA and making sure that the baseball camp stays intact, and now we are coming off of an eight win season and are actually bringing in some good looking players who have offers from places other than Samford and Troy. Next thing you know, the SEC will want to ban the cowbells and Byrne will vote "no".
