man i love the pack.....

i really thought we were past the girls basketball coach stuff after he schooled you guys saturday. i mean seriously, what he did to mullen and the dogs was embarrassing...or should have been.

they got desperate, they got sloppy...

don't get desperate Ole Miss.

Signs you are getting desperate
1) you hired a hs girls basketball coach
2) that hs girls basketball became a te coach because he hand delivered an OT, that lived with an OM booster that owns Taco Bells
3) hs girls basketball coach is not qualified and sticks our like sore thumb next to other quality SEC Coaches
4) Other quality SEC coaches don't want to look bad to hs girls basketball coach
5) you better learn your role, or the big dogs will put you in your roles

Good thing the egg bowl was such a blowout we didn't have to worry about letting it get away for another one of those

Pretty sure you are very incorrect

Shumpert has been to 4 OM games. Just a fact. Still think y'all lead for him but if you think his visits are an indicator, then you're wrong because they're just about even

But reb delusion knows no limitations these daze. Blv what you want

If we win, they beat us in recruiing, if we lose they beat us in recruiting. We

need to figure it out. Hire some of these recruit's Dads, offer their brothers, whatever.

...If you see them lining up a bunch of guys with one syllable nicknames that are as cute as their sweaters, batten down the hatches. I recall when Cut coached a guy named "Ro" who threw the ball a lot to a guy named "Pete", etc. etc. etc. They really seem to shine when they have cutesy nicknames for their players, particularly if they don't have to expend too many brain cells by using more than one syllable. That they have a quarterback named Bo is not a coincidence...

This also explains why they've lost so many big recruits from the team in recent years. I'd like to believe it's because of poor behavior, drug use and academic failings, but I think those were all just cover ups for the fact that the "flagship" faithful couldn't come up with a cute nickname.

I'm particularly concerned because of Hugh(one syllable) Freeze(one syllable).

PS: I'm just as perplexed as you about CJ Johnson's play unless the initials are just as good as cutesy one syllable nicknames. Watch our for guys who go by their initials in the upcoming Bear recruiting class as well.

Consider this a public service announcement, and any of you bear recruits reading, give strong consideration as to whether your name could be translated into a really cute nickname because if not, you could be the next Singleton/Brassel/etc. If I were Robert Nkemdiche I'd be really afraid. Bear Braintrust Naming Committee is hard at work as I type this!

PPS: If Brassel returns I fully expect him to be "Bras" or something equally gay.

They are also going to benefit from having such a bad, undersigned class in February 2012 (#58 in scout) that they get to oversign this December and count it towards last February. That will add to their "2013" team recruiting ranking. If you ranked our 2012 (#18 in scout) and 2013 (currently #14) classes together we would blow their 2012/2013 classes out of the water.

Incorrect. Only the top 25 in the class count towards the Scout.com rankings. Good effort, but completely false.

actually it is 6 visits ... and yes, I hope it's an indicator ... kinda like the moral victories that you guys call indicators

Seemed to be a good indicator of the ***-whippin we were going to give you at the end of the season.

Why worry about UM recruiting? They always pay and skate the NCAA...

We all know this is as certain as the sun rising in the east. They repeatedly and blatantly put their $ where their "mouths" are and never feel reprocussions.

What more/less do any of you expect? It will happen until the end of time, because for some reason the NCAA overlooks the last minute recruit flops. The same recruit flops who miraculously start driving new vehicle, recruits who's siblings receive jobs/schollys/endowments, parents "move on up to the east side" and receive jobs/furniture/housing etc?

It's a given they will fork out the greenbacks year in and year out for that top recruit so I'm not scared of them. We've dominated them recently even with them making it rain on recruits. We are alright as long as we make some changes on the defensive coaching side.

Christ people...

We cheat at approximately the same rate. It's a fact. That's why our recruiting always ends up looking pretty similar in football. The reason the class fell apart in 11? NCAA snooping on Cam + Hud leaves(who was lead recruiter on CJ and Snoop) + Diaz leaves = perfect storm. There is a new video out(OM the season) where CJ talks about his decommittment and how/why it happened, and he made it sound much more related to Hud than I realized, at least in his explanation. Hud stays and that whole thing never happens how it did. Either way, the 2011 scenario won't EVER happen again...not like that.

In basketball, we've kicked their *** for two decades in recruiting. Good luck explaining that to me with a straight face. We have PLENTY of people playing the game, especially in basketball, where we've had it down to a science for years now.

We have to STAND on our own merits without feeling the need to get in petty fights with them about every little thing. All this does is expose our old insecurities and make us look bad. Simple fact. We are going head to head with them for only a few recruits this year, of which we are going to split about equally.

Tip your hat. They have a great class, overachieved this year, and play an exciting brand of football. We also have a great class to go with an excellent class last year and hopefully enough JUCOs to plug the holes from the 11 debacle. Hopefully we make (ahem) adjustments on both the offensive and defensive sides to get us closer to where we need to be next year, and we can welcome them to a night game in Starkville with two very good teams with alot more on the line ala the late 90s.

Wow! If you found any logic in there, you were digging. No way I could post with any logic with this low of a post count. Started as a simply jab at the Bears for the tendency for them to attach ***** nicknames to their players and turned into a message board train wreck. Perfection...

I was not wrong. The Top 25 do count for scout, but oversigning still helps your ranking in that you are counting only the 25 best. In 2009, OM signed used 37 signees to garner a #17 recruiting ranking from scout.com. They only counted OM's 25 best, but large percentage of those 25 either never made it to campus or didn't stay long, while the lowest 12 who were not counted did make it to campus, artificially boosting the ranking.
