From what has been told on this board, it looks like he brought all of this on himself. If that's the case....no sympathy from me.

Blanton bled " Bulldog Blue".

He was frustrated, and I totally understand how he feels. We are talking about a "Top Notch" football program in the gutter! There has been bad decisions since last years team along with the constant change in coaches over the last 4 years.

I had to go back and re-read Blanton's post and I can't say I blame the guy. I just hate it got out.

From what I've been hearing...and don't throw stones at me; But! from what I've been hearing, is that running this team into the ground is being done on purpose. This will take the community out of it and support for the team will decrease. Once this happens, this will give the BOE even more reason to shut Albemarle down....don't shoot the messenger here!

I really don't believe that, but that's the word out here....

I guarantee you it is not the head coach or any of the assistants or the AD that are trying to run the program in the ground. If AHS wins out except for West Montgomery, the season will really only have one loss that would not have been suffered in recent seasons and that is East Montgomery. I think a four loss season would be a great success and thought that three would be phenomenal before the season started.

I hear things from people in the know and there is no way the coaches are trying to lose. That is ludicrous. I am not sure you could pay someone enough to come to Albemarle with the intent on losing. Much less what the coaches actually are paid. That is funny if people are that ignorant.

I wouldn't say they're ignorant, but ever since they talked about merging the schools, a lot of people have become very suspicious.

Even if I assure them, they disagree....history I guess.

Don't know about other locations but we are getting a downpour in Albemarle. Flash flood warnings are in place. Calling for more of the same tomorrow and into the weekend. I really don't see any games being played in the piedmont and down east.

I have snooped around and there are NOT 20+ ineligible football players. That is false. Truth be told is that most of our starting secondary and linebackers are walking the hall living the thug life. This has hurt us more than anything.

Let's not get carried away. Nobody's trying to lose on purpose. I have no doubt that the coaches are trying as hard as they can. AHS has changed a lot in the last few years and those changes are having an impact on the ability to be successful in football. That's just life. Let's get behind the kids and support them 100 percent.

The school had no control over the departures of Morris and Akins and no choice over the departure of Smith. Just lousy timing and rotten luck. I hate that a coach felt the need to come on here and defend himself (never a good idea for a semi-public figure to try to do that - just have to let it go) but I understand the frustration. These guys do not sign up for and do not deserve the criticism that comes their way in the internet age. College and pro is obviously a different story.

I look at it like this. If a baseball coach can win 8 games minus the forfeits with Albemarle, then I expect Smith to win 14 at least. No Pun intended, I'm just saying. We should be sitting at 5-1 right now with our only loss to Concord. Switching up Offenses at the beginning of the season hurt Albemarle. Switching to the Wing T was only for damage control.

@spiketomandjerry4 those guys in the hallway can stay in the hallway. I've said on here before that most of the athletes that Albemarle needs are on the streets not giving a darn about school let alone athletics, but they'll show up at the games chasing girls tho... They can stay right there. Some kids you just can't coach, and that's a reality.

The coaches dont have to try to lose games, the players are doing a good job losing the games on their own lmao! for the sabotage believers, did the sabotagers make last years coach get down with students during his planning period? and did the sabotagers make 20 players ineligible this year?

Last year's coach was not inside the building and doubtful that he was doing anything with students. I have heard this twenty players ineligible but I think that number is unrealistic. There are issues at Albemarle but even that high of a number would be questionable at a school this size. I am very curious to see the ADM numbers this year for Stanly County and compare them to last year.

Well technically he was in the building but he taught cabinet making (it used to be called shop) and I was told that the students that were ineligible and I'm not sure exactly how many there are but they were ineligible for missing too many days of school last year.

I think KW is trying to stir it up with the ALbemarle faithful. I doubt that many females were heading out to the shop building. Then again may be his planning period was in the gym or somewhere in the main building. I don't know but I do not think the last coach would have did anything with a student and I think you agree with that number 9.

What Albemarle needs IMO is a really strong principal. Last one we had was Dave Bright. He ran a tight ship. Think Ms Morton let the students get away with to much and the discipline suffered. Don't know yet what kind of principal Mr Kilgore is but I hope he can regain some control over the students.

I think Doug got in trouble because he was using some of his students to help line the field off and some of their parents complained to the principal. Back when I was in school I would have volunteered to line the field off if it would have got me out of class.

KW23 that was not Doug Talbert who was the coach last year.

I am sure Doug's family, especially his wife and chlidren, appreciate the apology. Nothing wrong with a little slander toward a man that stepped up into a tough situation when no one else would and beared the brunt of many people's frustration.

May just refrain from posting or speaking about something that you do not know the facts.

Pretty evident he has the wrong coach and the wrong year. First he wrote it was students and then a fellow teacher. The old rule, "if you are not sure if you are stupid, keep your mouth shut" applies.

Apology not accepted as far as I'm concerned. And it's apologize not "appologize".

That is not freedom of speech. That would be considered slander.

If people put on social media that you were having an affair or a relationship with an underage minor would you consider it freedom of speech? Probably not. I am sure if you had a wife and young children that could find out about what was being written, although untrue, it would be somewhat concerning to you.

i would consider it freedom of speech if they did that, i dont care what anyone posts about me, and i feel comfortable enough to know that my wife and children would believe me instead of whomever decided to post whatever about me. Sure i wouldnt like it, but they have the right in my opinion to say whatever they like. Like i said i apologize i got the wrong year and the wrong guy. I made a mistake and i am sincerely sorry to talbert and his family, i will no longer post anything thats not football related. I made a big mistake and im sorry.

In reference to Mr. Kilgore he is doing a outstanding job and really pushing the kids academically. Additionally the discipline really seems to be consistent. I believe overall between Mr. Kilgore and Coach Kimry we are really getting a strong foundation built for success. I believe our grades and successes from this year will show it.

ADMs normally come out right before the next to last game or the first part of the last week of the regular season.

KW doesn't care about what anyone says about him? Freedom of speech? Open season I guess...who wants to go first? ( Stupid misinterpretation of the law. Damaging speech is not free speech. Tread lightly. My lawyer friend says you are liable for punitive damages.)

This is a message board. I may post something that I hear that may ruffle some feathers but I don't post if its not true. If its not true then its close enough that someone of this board can fill in the blanks. If you are making up stuff about a coach or player this is no place to post false information. It is up to the moderator to warn and or block the poster for this infraction. The fun things about message boards is that its a lot of gossip, with most of it being true with the exception of KW. If everyone on here said who they were, we would never hear any inside information. KW was out of line posting about false information that could put Coach Talbert in a bad situation if taken seriously. I did some digging todayt and I know that Talbert wasn't sleeping with students or teachers. He is really just a great guy who loves his family. That was the major reason he resigned this year, to spend more time seeing his kids play sports and be with his wife.
