Holtzclaw and Hughes are 2 I'm really looking forward to seeing.

The big TE Justin Rigg played a game and then was injured so he redshirted. He is supposedly very good.I remember schlarman saying he felt if Wolfe kept working he would be a good player. Hes long but i was never sold on him being a tackle.has anybody heard how wolfe has been playing during practice? ESPN has him down for 2 catches this season so he's been playing.Did Ross redshirt? Juco WR

He played but got injured.

I assume you mean he would qualify for a medical redshirt. If he played, he did not redshirt.
Was wondering why he disappeared. Didn't hear about the injury. He played but got injured.
I believe the plan for him has always been tight end but we've still got some time with Conrad as well.I wonder if there is any chance Holtzclaw has the frame to bulk up a la Tamme and become a pass-catching threat at TE? On his highlights, he seemed to have decent speed/athleticism for a WR, but he would have outstanding speed/athleticism for a TE.
He came in around 215 lbs, so I wouldn't think adding 30-35 lbs to a 6'7 frame would be overly difficult, but some guys just don't put on weight very well. I didn't have trouble adding 30 lbs to my frame in college, and I'm only 5'10 lol
Here they are.and how you think they will fit in next year . Thanks
Here they are.
Jaylin Bannerman - outside linebacker
JaQuize Cross - defensive tackle
Luke Fortner - offensive guard
Tobias Gilliam - safety
Gunnar Hoak - quarterback
Dakota Holtzclaw - receiver
ZyAire Hughes - receiver
Drake Jackson - center/guard
Tate Leavitt - offensive tackle (juco)
Kordell Looney - defensive tackle
Justin Rigg - tight end
Davonte Robinson - cornerback
Asim Rose - running back
Roland Walder - outside linebacker
Jamar Watson - linebacker
I don't believe any of these players will start next year, because 19 incumbent starters will be back. If 1 of them starts, it would probably be Drake Jackson. With Toth graduating, Jackson should compete with Bunchy Stallings for the starting center job. I would put my money on Stallings to start because Stallings is an incumbent starter who has had a huge year. It's possible Stallings will become our starting center and Jackson could nail down the starting job at right guard. With Kemp graduating, Asim Rose should be an important performer in the running back rotation. Kordell Looney helps to fill a huge need in the interior of our defense. Davonte Robinson, Tobias Gilliam have a lot of upside in the secondary. Jaylin Bannerman, Roland Walder should contribute on our defensive edge. Gunnar Hoak will get a look in the quarterback competition, but Steve Johnson's performance against Louisville has put him in a strong position.
Didn't Bannerman play some on special teams and against Austin Peay? Think he is number 47.I can't wait to see Drake pancaking kids in UK Blue.
Well, personally, I'm hoping to see him pancake kids wearing the opponent's colors... [winking]I can't wait to see Drake pancaking kids in UK Blue.
Jordan Bonner is 47. Bannermann didn't play.Didn't Bannerman play some on special teams and against Austin Peay? Think he is number 47.
haha very true. I should have been more clear on that.Well, personally, I'm hoping to see him pancake kids wearing the opponent's colors... [winking]
Yeah, that was terribly worded.Well, personally, I'm hoping to see him pancake kids wearing the opponent's colors... [winking]
Thank you for the clarification.Jordan Bonner is 47. Bannermann didn't play.
Re Ross, asked about him here a couple of times and got no response(I'm sure Rowland would answer...for a price). He played early, had a TD reception vs So Miss then apparently got hurt. He's the one people were calling a "manster" in fall practices. Sure do like 6"6" 230, hopefully he gets healthy and contributes next year.
For some reason I feel like Johnson will have a few of these conversations this off season.
If I remember correctly Tate Leavitt was expected by many to come in and not just start but improve the horrible O-Line. It's funny saying that now because our O-Line now is one of our top 2 units (RBs). But if he progresses and reaches his full potential he could potentially move into one of the tackles spots. Tate & Drake have a chance of joining the rotation on sheer talent and potential alone as long as they put it together. Any LBER and DLineman have a shot at cracking the rotation of talented enough.
It's hard to speculate right now though being so far away from NSD. With the way the regular season ended and potential Taxslayer (Gator Bowl) win. That could have a significant impact on the incoming class. This staff collectively are the best recruiters we have ever had at UK. Now they have more momentum and ammo than ever with the opportunity to get more. Now they have a chance for the best class we have ever seen and a shot at upgrading the talent level a little more.
If we were deep enough to redshirt two four star OL this year with almost everyone coming back (plus those two four stars) I doubt if any freshmen OL aren't redshirted.
That is a really talented group of redshirts. In past years, most of those guys would have to play as true freshmen. But depth man, depth! Cats finally have depth, and talented depth on this squad. Also didn't realize we redshirted 3 LB's. Expect that unit to be even more solid next year, along with the dline. Here they are.
