Not 100 percent on who got shirts but il give my opinion. Looney, cross both dtackles. I think Looney cracks the rotation his redshirt jr year a very active interior lineman in the of Middleton. Cross was a bigger guy 6"3 320ish and will play NG i believe he probably will not be in rotation with Pringle, hyde, Elam all returning. Oline we got Leavitt, fortner, drake i think all 3 will battle for rotation spots next year. Robinson and Gilliam at corner could step in roles next year with a couple departing safeties. Robinson is a freak and big. Gilliam is a blake mclain clone and will be solid. Backer we got watson bannerman and walder. I dont think any will be forced into action other than special teams next year. We return quite a bit of backers. Maybe Bannerman depending on how much weight he gains. Watson imo ends up a stud down the road. Very athletic looking group. Wr we have Holtzclaw a 6"7 guy with impressive long speed just needs strength. Zyaire hughes is a guy that i think ends up a solid rotation slot wr. Rb Rose this may be the guy I Am most anxious to see. From reports i saw it was a very close call between who played this year between Rose and Snell. Rose is a very fast rb with nice slashing ability. Qb Hoak i do not think he makes a run at the starting job belonging to my boy smitty. Hoak has a shot to be very good down the road. These are the guys i know for sure redshirted. Needless to say i Like this group and i believe Looney could give us a much needed inside rusher.

has anybody heard how wolfe has been playing during practice? He is a redshirt freshman this year and he has not seen the field yet this season that I know of. considering our lack of offensive tackles he is in a position of need.

The big TE Justin Rigg played a game and then was injured so he redshirted. He is supposedly very good.

I remember schlarman saying he felt if Wolfe kept working he would be a good player. Hes long but i was never sold on him being a tackle.

We lose one graduating WR, and have Holtzclaw, Hughes, the transfer Marvin Robinson, and who knows what number of true freshmen ready to contribute.

Loaded.

Jaylin Bannerman.... Remember this kid's name.. He's putting on weight this offseason. He's going to be a FORCE on the defense.

He played but got injured.

Re Ross, asked about him here a couple of times and got no response(I'm sure Rowland would answer...for a price). He played early, had a TD reception vs So Miss then apparently got hurt. He's the one people were calling a "manster" in fall practices. Sure do like 6"6" 230, hopefully he gets healthy and contributes next year.

I wonder if there is any chance Holtzclaw has the frame to bulk up a la Tamme and become a pass-catching threat at TE? On his highlights, he seemed to have decent speed/athleticism for a WR, but he would have outstanding speed/athleticism for a TE.

He came in around 215 lbs, so I wouldn't think adding 30-35 lbs to a 6'7 frame would be overly difficult, but some guys just don't put on weight very well. I didn't have trouble adding 30 lbs to my frame in college, and I'm only 5'10 lol

I believe the plan for him has always been tight end but we've still got some time with Conrad as well.

and how you think they will fit in next year . Thanks
Here they are.

Jaylin Bannerman - outside linebacker
JaQuize Cross - defensive tackle
Luke Fortner - offensive guard
Tobias Gilliam - safety
Gunnar Hoak - quarterback
Dakota Holtzclaw - receiver
ZyAire Hughes - receiver
Drake Jackson - center/guard
Tate Leavitt - offensive tackle (juco)
Kordell Looney - defensive tackle
Justin Rigg - tight end
Davonte Robinson - cornerback
Asim Rose - running back
Roland Walder - outside linebacker
Jamar Watson - linebacker

I don't believe any of these players will start next year, because 19 incumbent starters will be back. If 1 of them starts, it would probably be Drake Jackson. With Toth graduating, Jackson should compete with Bunchy Stallings for the starting center job. I would put my money on Stallings to start because Stallings is an incumbent starter who has had a huge year. It's possible Stallings will become our starting center and Jackson could nail down the starting job at right guard. With Kemp graduating, Asim Rose should be an important performer in the running back rotation. Kordell Looney helps to fill a huge need in the interior of our defense. Davonte Robinson, Tobias Gilliam have a lot of upside in the secondary. Jaylin Bannerman, Roland Walder should contribute on our defensive edge. Gunnar Hoak will get a look in the quarterback competition, but Steve Johnson's performance against Louisville has put him in a strong position.

19 returning starters sounds darn good. I had counted it as 18, but I like your math better. That's a great reason to believe that next year can be even better.

Most talented RS class ive ever seen at UK. And it's really not even close.

So, SO huge that they all now get bowl practices. basically another spring for everybody. Really hoping Drake Jackson can play well and be our C next year. That would be the best caae for our team mext year.

Looking forwardnto hearing how they all are progressing in the next month. Especially the lineman

Love that we have such a large redshirt class for a change, that's how you build quality depth and win ball games. There are a lot I'm interested in seeing play, but the one I'm really excited about is Asim Rose. I think he will get some run at the 3rd running back spot next year. I really thought he was going to get to play this year, can't wait to see him on the field next year.

I don't see every post. I've heard folks are high on the corners (Griffin, Robinson), Rose (running back), Hoak. Ross started strong, had some highlights in camp and early season, but it's not surprising to run into a learning curve in your first year.

If I remember correctly Tate Leavitt was expected by many to come in and not just start but improve the horrible O-Line. It's funny saying that now because our O-Line now is one of our top 2 units (RBs). But if he progresses and reaches his full potential he could potentially move into one of the tackles spots. Tate & Drake have a chance of joining the rotation on sheer talent and potential alone as long as they put it together. Any LBER and DLineman have a shot at cracking the rotation of talented enough.

It's hard to speculate right now though being so far away from NSD. With the way the regular season ended and potential Taxslayer (Gator Bowl) win. That could have a significant impact on the incoming class. This staff collectively are the best recruiters we have ever had at UK. Now they have more momentum and ammo than ever with the opportunity to get more. Now they have a chance for the best class we have ever seen and a shot at upgrading the talent level a little more.

If we were deep enough to redshirt two four star OL this year with almost everyone coming back (plus those two four stars) I doubt if any freshmen OL aren't redshirted.

It would be a nice little rule, that if u make a bowl game u can play your redshirts, since it's technically "post" season, and not count against the redshirt. Either way, redshirting these really talented guys was something UK never had the luxury to do in the past.

I didn't say anything about any of the true freshmen offensive lineman playing. I was talking about Tate and Drake have enough talent and potential to possibly join the rotation or move into a starters spot. However I did say if talented enough any incoming defensive lineman or linebacker has the possibly of cracking the 2 deep.

Honestly in my opinion I would love to be able to red shirt all incoming O-Line. We finally have SEC depth and talent at one of the most crucial units. Being able to redshirt those players would help sustain the depth. Also it would get the player more acclimated to the speed of the game and talent of college defender's.

I've heard they are really high on Luke Fortner. Even as deep as we are along the O-line he may get PT.

That is a really talented group of redshirts. In past years, most of those guys would have to play as true freshmen. But depth man, depth! Cats finally have depth, and talented depth on this squad. Also didn't realize we redshirted 3 LB's. Expect that unit to be even more solid next year, along with the dline.

These bowl practices will be absolutely game changing for this team for next season. I am getting so excited for next year! We have some very tough games at home next year, but those are opportunities to take this program to that next level. And I believe the Cats will be very hard to beat next year in Commonwealth.
