I like to think - and perhaps I'm a bit naive - that both of our fanbases for the most part, can get along with their hated brethren despite having different diplomas/allegiances.
Yes, I do frequent the pack quite a bit, definitely more than nafoom (been years since I've been there come to think of it), in large part because, while not as entertaining as it once was, it's usually a pretty good source of interesting, entertaining and at times, funny and witty discussion. It's not the 6-pack it used to be, but there are a lot of familiar names still whose rantings and ravings and thoughts I enjoy.
Look, we're both obsessed with each other. Otherwise Ole Miss fans wouldn't visit, and y'all wouldn't keep giving most of us reasons to visit by constantly posting about us. I can't speak for all the OM fans to visit here, but I don't come to this board to start ****. Usually, the **** has already been started before I get here.
If I see a post in a thread, or a thread altogether, about Ole Miss that I disagree with, I'm going to give my 2 cents. That and 5 bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
It may be helpful if both sides recognize the view of the other, and move on from there. It goes something like this - for both sides:
Some believe the other side is full of annoying idiots. Others believe it's full of evil evil 17s. Brothers, sisters, I beseech you. Come together. Can't you think of the other side as annoying evil idiot 17s?
Recognize that for what it is going in. You don't want all these Rebel "lurkers" here, start talking about yourselves more than you talk about us. A lot of these folks are here not because of the overall entertainment value of the pack, but because they enjoy riling you up, or feel the need to say something when the vaunted racist label is tossed about, for example.
Oh, I know, many of the OM fans who respond to threads about OM started by MSU fans are "obsessed." How a fan can be more obsessed by replying to something a rival says about them than the person posting about said rival on their own, MSU-oriented board is still beyond my mental capabilities, but to each their own.
My apologies for the rant, but it's a well-known fact we do hate each other. Every time we come up in your conversations, one of us is going to show up. Just that simple. I'm trying to help you out here. The sooner the root of the issue/complaint is discovered, the sooner a solution is set in place. The sooner a solution is set in place, the sooner the problem is solved.
So do y'all want to continue adding fuel to the problem, or actually attempt to solve it? Your board. Your call. But if you choose the former, do me a favor:
