Is that a little jab there braves. We keep up with what is going on out west. We know y'all have a good team and you beat North Duplin in the playoffs last year. This north Duplin team is quite a bit better and I am sure Cherokee is also.

North duplin stays undefeated with a 27 26 victory over union. It's was the ugliest reffing I have ever seen. I would bet nd had close to 300 yds in penalties tonight. They pulled it out in last 18 seconds

i could not make it too the lakewood-rosewood game tonight and listened too a local broadcast on radio of a area game and in this game there was penalty after penalty....question??? and this is not a anti-ref question....why? are so many flags being thrown in games? are the players having mental breakdowns? are there too many rules? no hidden agenda here....just wondering.

Rswdstu I was wondering the same thing last night. Union was moving all night on offense. One of our kids got hit 5 yds out of bounds. No flags were called. I would be willing to say nd had 10 offsides. One of which the middle linebacker timed the snap absolutely perfect which led to a 2 point conversion instead of gauranteed stop. The refs last night made all the wrong calls and then when it was an obvious flag they looked they ate them

It was great seeing old friends last night at homecoming. Stu...to answer your question it seemed like the game was more about the officials last night rather than the kids playing. I am not bashing any of the officials but rosewood coach was ejected for seemingly no reason in my eyes. The lakewood/north Duplin game might have had 5 penalties total. Two teams playing hard and deciding it on the field. Last night lakewood/rosewood there was probably 30 penalties for 300 yds, and as a fan that is not very fun to watch.

lhs, could not make last nights game but beyond all the penalties im told it was a good game and i wish lakewood great luck as they advance. our refs have a tough job keeping order on the field of battle and i do salute these people who travel many a mile for low pay too officiate our ballgames. some games this season has been flag free and some have been flag crazy! ohh well...good games coming up next friday in the carolina conference!

Another great week of football scheduled in the conference this week!

Princeton vs. North Duplin
Probably the 1a game of the week....you could argue robbinsville vs cherokee.
8-0North Duplin got a scare against 2-6 Union while 6-2 Princeton drubbed 0-8 hobbton. This game starts at 7.... might be over at 8 as neither team wants throw the ball. Both undefeated in conference play....winner has a conference championship in their grasp

Union vs Rosewood
These two teams I think are the upset specialist of the conference. I think both are loaded with potential but maybe a year away.

Lakewood vs Hobbton
Lakewood should take care of business

The CC has 2 big games this week battling for a share of Championship. Either Lakewood or Princeton will have only 1conference loses and Rosewood could play the spoiler giving the Rebels their first loss with another tied CC Championship. ND better have their A game knowing the Eagles will be bringing theirs. Safe game to all...its going to be some great contest..

There is a little buzz around town saying Lakewood will be small this year. That will make things very interesting on the eastern side.

Rosewood vs. North Duplin
It's the last game on the gauntlet for North Duplin. They have overcome adversity during conference play and that's what the great teams do. I really like the style Rosewood plays but I think North Duplin finishes things off right

Princeton vs. Lakewood
It's the rushing attack vs the rushing Defense. What will give. A lot on the line for these teams as 2nd place guarantees a playoff spot.

Hobbton vs Union
I just don't see Union having any problem in this one.

That would be nuts. Last year ND was the only team with 1A numbers. If what you hear is true only Union would have numbers to be 1AA. I see cut off at 520 or less. Your game with Princeton should be exciting hope it's injury free..

Last years ADM were Rosewood 533, Princeton 526, Lakewood 544, Union542, Hobbton 541 and North Duplin 357. That could put all team in 1A bracket.

Wow...it might turn out to be a conference tournament in the east. I am hearing Lakewood is somewhere around the 520 mark. We will see who qualifies and go from there.

Good luck to all CC teams tonight. Should be some great games.

I believe ND will put out a close hard fought game against the eagles to claim the conference.

Lakewood and Princeton is gonna be a barn burner. I think Lakewoods defense will be the difference in the ball game.

Union should have no problems with Hobbton.

Since they have dropped from 64 teams to 48 teams Lakewood could fall into 1A depending on ADMs of other schools...but last year Charlotte N&O playoff predictions were purdy dang close, so going by their predictions this year ND will be the only team in 1A with a bye at #1 seed in 1A east, vs teams like Manteo & Northampton, they have Lakwood in 1AA bracket that could face Tarboro & Princeton in bracket that could face Holmes...all the CC teams have some tough games ahead...best of luck to all

Congrats to north Duplin. They played lights out all year. They are the definition of consistency. It's a double edge sword. I hope Lakewood goes big so we have a chance at two teams to represent conference....but if we are small I think there is know doubt 1 of the 2 represents the east

Missed you at the game rswdstu. It was a great game to watch. The Eagled had their ears pin back all night disrupting the Rebels rythem until late. Good luck with the Bulldogs, they gave us all we could handle. Suprised they didnt give Lakewook more of a game but sure Princeton/Rosewood will leave it all on the field.

Is ND good enough to make it through the 1A playoff field this season? There's a chance Mount Airy will be in the 1A, and I wouldn't mind seeing one of the teams I used to cover play one of my new ones. I always thought Coach Martin did a great job with that program.

The CC has 2 of the stronger teams in the East and ND will need to play their A game the entire run to keep rolling. But these are teenagers anything can happen and it's why we have playoffs. With new system there's talk of cutoff around 540 which is ridiculous with a split classification. Team playing teams nearly twice their size puts it back where it started.

Not much changed for ND, Northside & Lejeune were smallest teams ND played this year, both have 100 more kids than ND, largest being Union with almost 200 more....I don't think 540 will be the cut off thinking more around 500, but never know. by the way, What's up neighbor, lol

If it's as high as 540, that really isn't fair. That really would stack the deck against some of the smaller 1A teams that have strong teams.
