Carry on cowbell?

A couple years ago I had the cowbell in my carry-on luggage and no one said anything, but the tension in the airports seems to be higher recently, so we're still debating whether to bring them at all (not planning on checking any luggage).

Either way, I wouldn't try to sneak it in 2009 Davis Wade Stadium style.

I have done it several times this year. Depending on the airport they may pull it out and look at it... but a quick explanation will solve the problem.

I carried mine on both to and from Houston this past year, and nobody said a word.

Completely forgot that I had it with me for the trip to China since I had only packed it for the bowl game. It somehow got switched to my carry on and it got spotted in the Shanghai Airport right before our flight back home. NOT A FUN EXPERIENCE trying to explain to those Asians what the hell a cowbell is and why I have it. Luckily, the bell in mine is missing, so I guess it seemed less harmless. After about 10 minutes they let it go.<div>
