I’m sure WL n NL are totally different BUT anyway It will be interesting if they do build a new school and What it takes from EL/NL and It will be interesting when WL area starts to expand which it will sooner or later esp with all Growth in surrounding areasLol it's the new West Lincoln

Third year in a row East Burke football Team Award from the NCHSAA Scholar Athlete for outstanding work in the classroom and football 4.01 that is strong.
We jump from talking Lincoln co schools then East Burke. EB got something special going on in track this year so they in the spotlight. Tallent they hadn’t had since 2009.
North Lincoln is the ONE and ONLY school in Lincoln county and possibly surrounding area in general East Burke has NOT played in football, basketball and doubt even baseball. Maybe some time within 10 or 12 years they will meet in the field. They 1-2 vrs EL series. Play WL and Lincolnton now on regular basis. 0-2 against Lincolnton. That might change this fall.

I looked at the results man, appeared to be a guy from St Stephens. A senior from St Stephens. Saint also blew em out in the 4*200 with a 1:30. That’s moving man. Saints got athletes. Guess they don’t move as well in the pads ha ha.
Sifford with a really good time. Best time in CVAC as of now. He’d take Fraley in the 100 but in the 200 it’s a wrap. He’s got those strides and extra gas at the end. Good shape guy who can do damage if we get a QB that can get the ball to em downfield.

May 4th Bunker Hill 3 pm. CVAC conference Track meet. Time to find out who the most athletic RBs are, and those WRs and DBs. Come on out fellas. Closest thing to football player action til Aug. Just got alittle cross country guys in the mix that’s all. Other than that it’s like a football combine like I said. Gonna be fun gonna be competitive gonna be interesting and No…I’m not too passionate bout this event, just having some fun. So y’all have fun with me on this ha ha.
Things to look for.:
Bunker Hill expected to win sprint relays(most exciting part of the meet) but can Newton show em up and beat ‘em by a nose?? Will Fraley show up on Sifford in the 100? Can KJ Byrd take the overall CVAC MVP field? Will EB sweep the Shot/Disc. Has Bandys(last years winner) lost too much to graduation to finish at least 2nd? Dog fight for 2nd between them and BH. Will Culliver manage to win 100 M title if he competes?

What I have heard might be a SR that QB as a fresh on JV during the covid season look good running the JV offence. That year pass when needed that jv team did not get to play a full schedule. We are loaded in the back field EB just has not had a QB in a while that can throw the ball, but you can win without a lot of passing look who won the state Tarboro run only. MT Airy threw the ball two times. both won state titles We just have to replace a couple 1 LB Luke of two DB and we will be fine!! some talent moving up. Big JR and Senior class but a big Freshman class after than the group coming over from middle is not as good as the pass three classes but a Fast QB for the future!!The offense. they run you can pass just have to have a QB that can pass and some one to catch the ball. When Coach was at Foard they scored 60 points with same offence as now but had a 1000-yard passer. Break out year I hope Toughest conference no easy games other than maybe Patton and West Caldwell.
Demographic hurts at EB for sure opening Daughn took a lot of kids from there that has hurt EB over the years!!
It did hurt a little bit, but if draughn was never built EB for many a seasons woulda been like South Caldwell. Lots of kids, 4A, 5-6 records round abouts and first round and done if they even made it. This year mighta been kinda special if it was old EB. I guess that’s my take judging from both teams seasons 4 5 6 years ago and whatnot. Freedom, I don’t know bout them, most of the tallent was always Oak Hill Glenn Alpine anyway before Patton was built. They just shaved the fat off and was 3A which is easier lol.
Some teams out there can have a run run offense and succeed no prob but a lot of that involves good push pile Olinemen with bulky and fast RBs. EB will be closer than usual( but not at that high caliber) to that prototype this coming fall and I HOPE ole powerback Coble is fully healed stronger and ready to go. I think that’s how WLs offense ran last year. Hand off push the pile and hope for the best and it worked along with a few pass plays to throw em off. I hadn’t saw WL play since 2017. I think we may have their number this fall cause they lost a lot of good players
you need to be strong to play football speed along don't get it and if you can't catch a pass and learn the plays that does not help either. Other than one or two guys EB guys have got a lot stronger than a year ago from what I have heard!

….I made my first trip to East Burke baseball field last week when Maiden visited. I sat up on a grassy knoll overlooking the field….it was a beautiful view. Both the softball and baseball fields were immaculate. I couldn’t believe how expansive the East Burke campus is. You’d have to call an UBER to get from the school to the baseball field. 
Just wonder how many acres there are on that campus? It’s HUGE! Heck…that baseball field is a catchers nightmare too….had to be an 1/8 of mile from the plate to the back stop!
I tell you what….y’all need to be talking up that baseball team too!…they’re very very good! I hope Maiden doesn’t have to play them again…the Cavaliers will be a tough out come playoff time…wait and see!
If you’re off Monday…ride up to Patton for the “Causby Classic” and watch a Burke county show down with East Burke vs Draughn at 4:30 pm….you won’t be disappointed….both teams are really good…and it should be a great game.
That 2 pm game with Maiden vs Lincoln Charter really intrigues me as well….I got to figure out how to take a half day off so I can get there to watch it.

I've seen the videos of a 8th grade Maiden kid benching 255 and squatting 355 and a leg press of 635 pounds. This kid looks like a beast in the gym
Baseball and EB hadn’t been in the same sentence as far as big time attention in I can’t remember when. Think they were pretty good in 96 97’ but hadn’t heard nothing sense. Some good softball seasons til they played Alexander Central. But appears if you wanna see who the big dog softball team is around here it’s South Caldwell. The boys baseball fell off the map at South but enough bout South this is CVAC but I’ll give em a shout out for a great season so far
Glad the Burke folks and layout made you a believer in the vast array of splendor of our campus. It’s an old home to me that’s for sure. Might just check that showdown out at Patton. I’m not too far away.Have to admit…since this thread is all over the place

If anything that speeds up the end of Bandy's high school. They couldn't handle that influx of students
. And would probably speed up a new high school ending Bandy's for good.
Big Housing development they want to build in Newton on the corner of 16 bypass and Mount Olive Church road.. that's technically bandy School district
I live close to Highway 10 and I seen some land clearing idk if for housing or what not but I know if they did built there it would be more than likely bandy district
Its about time for Catawba county to expand maiden school zone. We have extra room in school. And Bandy's school is small and can't handle anymore growth
There is a “Dead” zone for outside of maiden in northern part just south is Newton so they just give it to maiden

From what I've been told Newton cannot expand their School boundaries it was part of the deal for them to have their own school system what was drawn out will always be what's drawn out for their school system.
Yeah there is a little weird area between DMV office and Burger King in Newton that kind of is a blurred area
