The CVAC won 13 of their 24 non-conference games last year….that’s just over half.

Using that as the baseline for an over/under for this year….where y’all at?

I’ll take under.

I really think it’s going to be the same….but I’m leaning “under” much stronger than I’m feeling “over”. 🥴

Somebody tell me I’m wrong!…please!😂

Bears 3-0
Maiden 2-0 ( I do not know how watagua is )
Lincolnton 1-2 ( hardest non conference schedule in conference )
West Lincoln 2-1
Bandys 2-1
Newton 1-2 ( could be 2-1 just don’t know anything about west Henderson )
East Burke - 1-2 ( maybe 2-1 could base this better once I see us play freedom)
West caldwell 0-3

I have the under also but could be over just depends on how those 3 teams I don’t know about are

Bunker Hill should be the favorites. They were good last year and should be better this year. I think second place is up for grabs between Maiden, Lincolnton, and East Burke. I picked Maiden because I'm biased but really not sure what to expect from them. I think Bandys will be a little better and possibly take the 5th spot but are year away from being contenders. Newton will have the athletes to win about 8 games but will only win about 4 for some reason.

CVAC 2023 PREDICTION

1- Bunker Hill - it’s simple we have everyone coming back. Have the best QB and RB in the conference could also argue WR as well, The O line should be stout return 4 or 5 and the defense returns 10 of 11.



2A- Lincolnton - Lincolnton has the hype coming into this season returning a lot of key players with a new young energized coach.



2B - Maiden - Maiden is maiden they lost nearly everyone but you can always expect them to be up near the top no matter the year. I personally believe the QB play will determine the season.


4. Bandys- Bandys returns a lot of kids that got playtime last year. The o line is going to be big from what I’m hearing, heard they have more speed on the outside then years past. It will be interesting to see who wins the QB battle. Also Jv went 9-1 last year

5.Newton Conover- I heard they will be starting their sophomore QB who is solid ! They have the athletes to compete but can they put it all together !

6.EB- East is always big upfront but one thing that gives them fits is speed which this conference has a lot of it. They are returning a good bit so I can see them finishing anywhere from 4-6 in the standings

7.West Lincoln - They lost everyone!! Bad Jv team just don’t see them doing much this year.

8.West caldwell - tbh no clue what they have but I do know they have athletes


Also sucks we play Lincolnton first conference game

BunkerHillBear 12, thanks for the poll. Of course, we never actually know how it will turn out until the game is played, but it looks like you've thought it out carefully. The only problem is that sooner than later this large hombre barbudo is going to show up and register his dislike for it, so don't be discouraged when he does.:)

Of course I'll join the revolution only difference is grizzly is probably a little more laid-back and strategic while I'm more like blitzkrieg and scorched Earth LOL with the possibility of nuclear 🤣🤣🤣

Now my response to above lol. I got to say I kind of agree with him on the bottom end. I'm sure the East Burke hype contingency will disagree lol. If I had to say who is the best quarterback in the conference at this moment in preseason I would say it's Adair kid at Newton I hope to see that change as a season goes on. I talked to some Newton kids they claim their line is fairly small I'll find out Friday night. ultimately that team flounders with adversity. Bandy's is kind of the secret nobody knows about cuz it's so quiet over there. The talk to some of their kids at the gym and just mentally they don't seem like they believe in there selves. Lincolnton is loaded with athletes just not too sure about their trenches. When it comes to us honestly y'all are all guessing cuz y'all truly don't know anything about our new team. Now Bunker Hill I'll talk to some kids at the gym from them and let's just say I'm not going to say they are iron strong in confidence. I believe Bunker Hill has athletes but I believe they have weaknesses that can lead to their losing in the conference. Offense is pretty but defense wins games

I'm learning to get along with Bunker Hill people my married neighbors are Hill graduates 😂 they played baseball and softball at the hill. They don't seem like bad young people 🤣🤣🤣

Lol I have some fun memories at East Burke 🤣 had some eb mom come after me because I got into her kids head during a game 🤣🤣 never said a curse or derogatory word lol. By the end of the game he was cursing me while our back up running back ran by him for a TD 🤣 coach dragged him off the field by his facemask. All I did during the game was call our WR TD's before they happened while he covered him and afterwards dust my shoulder off. Damn my younger days when us maiden fans where mental assassins.

-Hating lots of teams
-Made three references to something called an East Burke hype contingency
-Admitted to tormenting an East Burke player until the player became so enraged by it that he had to be removed from the game
-Expressed joy at this same player being maneuvered off the field by his face mask
-Had fun laughing at an East Burke parent who approached him to object to his brand of sportsmanship
-referred to himself as a mental assassin and longed for those days again

Lol I was pleasant to you when I met u at the game 🤣🤣. And hate is saved for rivalry teams lol. E.B. has only ever really been an opponent. Honestly the bandys hate has subsided quite a bit over the years, I guess where we have kinda dominated them lately. I think over last couple years west Lincoln has become one of our biggest rivalrys and I started hating them 🤣. But before that they were just an opponent we beat up on 🤣🤣. So Lincolnton u gonna say hi to me in ur building this year 🤣

Over 30 pages before the first game. Ok Grizz or Maiden one of y’all be the initiator for the CVAC week 1 you have my vote.

Not gonna go predict this team or that but I oughta at least go on a limb and say Bandys conf champs due to the returns/Helms/good JV year/momentum maybe/some track kids BUT…based on all the BH hype and track kids I’ll go dog fight between them and Bandys with EB creeping up jn 3rd and taking Maiden for first time since 07’ . Only reason we got em in 07’ was largely due to once in a lifetime freak athlete Shatley who may have 3 or 4 years left in em in Jacksonville as we speak.

Biggest thing bout East Burke this year - they better do it to it whatever they do because they will lose bout as much as Maiden did this year in the cap and gowns. HUGE class of seniors this year with not much going in JVs last year but did have a few bright spots that may be a nasty good help this year not to mention some track kids they normally don’t have

Someone mentioned Watauga. Random I know but then being best coached, tricked out plays and always having athletes no matter who graduates expect the unexpected. Loved watching them and Burns last year. Y’all missed a barn burner.

Freedom. I wouldn’t expect much but usually but not always up there in athletes and good enough to gage how a season my go according to how you look playing them. Don’t get me started on last years Fat Friday matchup ha ha.

Track doesn’t equate to football 😂😂 look at bunker from 2012-2016 best track team in the conference and county but with multiple losing football seasons.
