So I am in this restaurant in central Kentucky tonight and a group sits down at the table next to us. I look closer and the guy on the end of the table is Rick Stansbury. As I am leaving I speak to him just intending to walk by and not interrupt their conversation. He stops me and asks me who I am and I explain I am an MSU grad which was why I recognized him. He asks all types of questions about what I do and why I am visiting this part of the country. He then asks all kinds of questions about the thing I am doing here. Like a dumass I ask him why he was in Kentucky, he says he is now the head coach at WKU. I apologized for being out of the loop on sports lately and had not heard that. Anyway, really nice conversation with a good guy.

First of all when you said RS, and led with a restaurant I immediately thought Renardo Sydney. Second, I know we give Meo and the kids hell sometimes, but when I saw her in Columbia, SC before the USC game, she also had a lengthy conversation where she was asking more about me. They honestly seem like the nicest people in the world outside of the arena. Rick does like his F Bombs though. Of all the coaches that came to the business I worked at in college Rick was the only one that would hang out in the lobby and talk to people while waiting. The rest would arrange for someone to pick them up. Scratch that Melvin Smith would ******** for hours with people.

That's what I thought, normally if a RS's mouth is that busy in a restaraunt, it has nothing to do with a Stansbury talking.

I saw him in Perry Cafeteria before the OSU game in '99. That did not surprise me, but what did was the amount of time he spent talking to me after I had merely said " Hello Mr. Stansbury" when had a table full of recruits waiting on him. I love him, Meo, and the boys.

Who is a high school basketball coach in Houston. He coached a coveted recruit two years ago and got to interact a ton with all the big name coaches in college. He texted me numerous times how much he hates talking to Stanabury because the conversation lasted forever. Apparently Rick can ramble with the best of them.

My immediate thought as well. My next thought was how dangerous it would be interrupting Sydney while eating.
