This game was a slug fest that Chancellor just refused to lose. Massaponax won the rushing yards game and Chancellor the passing. Massaponax lost the turn over game and Chancellor won the points game. Both of these teams fought for four full quarters!!! OH .... and the QB had an awesome night!!

Can't wait to see the stats tomorrow. Massaponax with hundreds of yards on the ground, Chancellor with hundreds in the air!!!!!

So proud of how the Chargers never, never gave up or gave in. They refused to lose!!!!

Beer??? Oh no .... good bourbon!!! My throat is so raw! Good bourbon numbs it!!!!!

The Chargers just flat refused to lose!!!!! 97 points scored in this battle! 97! I thought they were going to have to re-sod the end zones!
An epic memory. Well done.

It is one for the memory bank for sure! And for the record, the Chargers are NOT ready to play the New England Patriots. Not just yet anyway.

I look for another shootout
No. No. This one is a drubbing and EV will not be on the happy end. Chargers have been on the wrong end with these guys for several years and very frustratingly so. not this season.

This will not be a game. This is a "vendetta". Oliver will run up the score as high as he can and "jailbreak" blitz all night. Welcome to the Battlefield where nobody likes you. Cyclones will be back on the bus before they even know the number of the truck that just ran them over or what side of the helmet they're looking through.

No disrespect. I think EV is a fine team and well Coached. They have built a consistent program. Every kudo for that. It's what every school should strive for. It would not be the first time they have beaten the Chargers. But a buzz saw awaits on Friday. That's just the way it is this year.

I can see that happening too. EV's first two opponents sucked compared to the likes of Riverbend and Massaponax. I look for chancellor to win but I also think it could be a shootout with EV playing at home.

I do not think it will happen, but possible let down game after last weeks emotional win over ponax! Remember Chancellor clobbered them in the first meeting last year when Chancellor was healthy and fell in the playoff with a bunch of starters out. EV is good, but a little weaker than last years squad, and Chancellor has the same group back and stronger. I predict a Chargers win by 2-3 scores. This is Chancellors year and probably the best team in school history, they are what Courtland was last year, all the pieces are in place, do it now because next year you become what the Cougars are going through so far this year young!! and the Chargers know all to well how having a young team feels like. Go get'em Chancellor-fan!

I agree Chancellor wins big! EV is not ready for what's about to come to cyclone stadium. If they are then it could be a shootout which I doubt. All chanc has to do is pressure the qb and force him to throw. EV will try to grind them out and keep possession with their running game. I predict 62-27 type game

I won't make any predictions just helping with some facts.. Regular season game. EV played with many injuries not just 1.. they had 3 of their most athletic players out including Diago who was injured on the first series. They also tried to play with their best lineman who had just broke his hand 2 days prior. The game was mostly even except for the fact EV couldn't cover Jenkins. They changed that in the playoff game. Prior to a fumbled punt, it was I think tied in the 3rd quarter.

I do think Chancellor looks very good this year as they have some great ingrown talent and added a few free agents over the summer. We missed that draft :)

Also, believe it or not, EV is better this year than last. I am interested to see how this goes. I'm sure anyone that has seen any film on EV or gone to a game they have noticed the size of the Oline. All I will say is they are as big or bigger than Liberty's line from a few years ago. I'm excited to see that battle in the trenches.

Ok one prediction.. Both these teams make the playoffs with high seeds.

No reason to take any shots at chancellor for the transfers it happens everywhere now it's something everyone's gonna have to get used to. Last year was last year both teams got smashed period. EV doesn't have the athletes to keep up with chancellor. Ev needs to win the coin toss take the ball and hope to hold onto it most of the game. It could be interesting or it could get real nasty quick. Good luck to both teams come Friday.

I'm not taking shots, I said I was stating facts. I don't have an issue with the transfers. Just noting the Fredericksburg's teams did a lot of transferring around this off season. The Culpeper schools don't exactly have that pool to pull from. I am for the athletes when it comes to the transferring issue. You should go find a better place for you if you can do it within the rules. You only get 4 years of HS ball to plead your case to college coaches..
As far as the last year thing goes.. I didn't bring that up, I was merely correcting the information so you guys can make much wiser picks in the outcome of the game. I do agree with control the ball and recognize that EV is the underdog in this game.

On a side note, don't get snippy with me OC boy just because you thought Orange might surprise EV only to see them get crushed. :) Orange is a better team than they were last year. I think that coach has them moving in the right direction.

More nonsense from Shanti. Remember an earlier post: "Courtland will be no different that last year and start 2-1." Dead wrong.

I don't know why people keep underestimating EV. The Cyclones are well coached, motivated, and certainly have athletes to compete with Chancellor. The Chargers are a good team and rightfully favored to win. But a blowout will not happen. This will be a good game.

EV gives up 62?! Wow, not likely. A defense with two shutouts (granted against lower level teams) will not suddenly give up a number like that at home. Big game in Culpeper Friday night. Should be a great atmosphere.

I'll have to check about Courtland starting 2 - 1. If I did say that, it was well be for the season started. I also said they've started 0 - 4 before but did win the Regional Championship. I did say 6 - 4 would be a good season for them. I probably said they'd be the same type of team. Same as EV runs the same system each year and is well Coached. I don't see where's there's an issue there. I've also picked against them in each game this year and will again this week. don't see an issue there either.

As for the rest, EV is overestimated (in this game) and Chancellor is underestimated. Few teams are perfect but they are way more than the Cyclones can handle right now. Come back to me Friday. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'll have no problem admitting that, as any frequent flyer here will tell you. Rub my nose in it all you want. I'll still be here.

I agree that number is ludicrously high. But the kid threw for 495 yards last week against a defense way better than anything EV has to offer. How will you stop them?

last year ev had very bad luck with injuries so last years game is nothing to go off of. I agree friday's game will be a shootout but close, both coaches will have each team prepared very well. Although ev's defense is their strong point their secondary is the weak point which happens to be chancellor strong point. From last friday's game chancellor struggled stopping the run which is ev's strong point. So the winner of this game will be which defense can come up with more turnovers and who's offenses can capitalize off the turnovers. I believe you slow and frustrate the brown/washington duo then the whole offense will slow down. Will be a great game and would not sell ev out so quick.

High school games can turn so quickly. Turnovers will be huge in this game. If it's a close game going into the 4th EV will have the advantage. You will not find a better conditioned team around.

No reason to bring up last year and the facts of last year it does no good in this game it's pointless. Not getting snippy just stating the obvious. I wish EV would win but highly doubt it. I agree with you about the transfers I have no problem with it either as long as it's done the proper way. EV playing at home might limit the number of points chancellor scores but if they can hang 50 on massaponax they definitely can hang 62 on EV.

Jenkins made some awesome catches! Was Ponax just a wee bit cocky to not double him? And I'm not just going by the video, a coach told me that.

Wow, great highlights. Thanks for posting. Brown to Jenkins is a lethal weapon. You can see with your own eyes that Massaponax left the corner alone frequently. It will be interesting to see how EV attempts to slow that down.
