I’m interested to see how this game turns out. Both teams are 2-1 and had a week off. I believe it was Providence RB that set a State record with 9 TDs against Parkwood on 9/2. Any thoughts or predictions for this game.

For whatever reason it has taken Providence five years to figure out to just line up and run behind a bunch of 300 lb linemen. Their defense, I don't see stopping CC.
Between the two offenses, this game may be over in 30 min. If it comes down to coaching and no mistakes... Catholic

Catholic rolls 49-14. Only point of interest is somehow Providence stud running back had about 270 yards without really effecting the game much outside of one 80 yard run.

Not trying to be a smart butt here, but why was he in the game with 18 seconds to go. You take him out before than so that doesn’t happen. The game was already over.

Back in 2002-2004 Providence had a running back named Andrew Pearman who was more explosive but talented. Watching the game last night reminded me of those Providence teams because it seemed like the ball went to the RB every play and he would still make things happen. The offense was rather pedestrian from a creativity standpoint.

Same Pearman family who had a son or two go through Country Day? Think the dad is still over there coaching.

Used to always want to see the private school starting lineups with their home school district listed. Out of the Big 4 and Catholic players districted for Providence I expect that would have been a lot of talent and depth.

Alvin played at Country Day and UVA plus six years in the NFL. He got a PhD at Vandy and is a professor at Stanford. (You read that correctly.)

Andrew has a speed, conditioning, and skills business that is just outside of downtown Charlotte. He played at Hawaii and then UVA, also.

The family also has or did have some type of horse breeding / training business. They are a pretty impressive family.

I remember seeing Alvin with the Tennessee Titans for a few years. He was a decent NFL player.

Great question 84k. That kid can play and has the quickest step I have seen in a back all year. The game was actually closer than the score. Providence made a few untimely mistakes, got punished for it and the game got out of hand. They gave up two TDs in the last 3 minutes of the half. Anytime the outcome of an game has been decided, a coach needs to consider how much sense it makes to have your key players still playing. If one gets injured in those circumstances, that is on the coach. Chasing meaningless stats and putting a season and kid's athletic career at risk simply doesn't make sense. No update but hope the kid can recover quickly as he has the potential to play on Saturday. A few years ago there was a 2A team with a D1 back that was steamrolling everyone. Late in the season, they were up 40-50 points and the stud was still in the game. Tore an ACL. An odds on state championship vaporized immediately and a high school career ended.

Anyone who follows Charlotte-area football saw this one coming from a mile away. Providence beats up on lesser competition and when it comes to big boy football they get exposed. Every single time.
