they were forced to do this. nobody even blames them. they were so terrible this year that the whole 'two years after a title' thing is forgotten. they weren't even competitive, and their players are running around like wild indians down there. it's much more than on the field results.
We may all hae Chizik for the Cam deal
and I couldnt stand him as much as the next guy, but that man did something for someone this week I know, who is very sick. Ill never speak bad of him again. Football is football, but he has changed this little girls life.

football is football. we all go a little far with it sometimes. glad to see actual perspective brought back into the mix.

No flame here, but..
I'll bite. What did he do that was so life changing? In my mind he will always be the dirty coach that bought the MSU recruit that would single handily take MSU to a BCS game. That is a lot of ground to make up.
jeremy johnson would be a big pickup for us, and we could play the carver chris relf line as well......also hope we talk with earnest robinson of pinson valley and jason smith of mobile....all high school qbs who could play qb or wr on the next level....we need that type of athlete seriously.....we're in pinson talking to players already because we had a commitment from another of their wrs at one time but decommitted and committed to vandy....speaking of which, we really need him to take a big job somewhere else.....
Disregard the fact that this will never happen for obvious reasons... But who would like to have Chizik as a D coordinator? His defenses were damn good (loaded w/talent)
I would take him even after Camgate. He didn't really do anything all that uncommon in recruiting other than pay more than the market price. I hate Cam and his dad (more for running their damn mouths than for taking the money), but I don't have any real hate for Chizik for that. He just did what he had to do to win a national title.
Chizik did not pay more than the market price for Cam. We just wouldn't pony up either b/c we're idiots, or more likely, Cecil's dad was such a dumbass there was no way for us to get away with it. It sucks, but the SEC never would have swept that under the rug for us like they did for Auburn. I only hate Chizik because he was dirty as **** and acted pious, and Auburn fans were ignorant enough to believe him. It's fine to pay players, it's stupid that people don't recognize that they're professional athletes. And it's fine to look the other way on the character of your players b/c you want to win. But don't ahve a team full of dirty players and cheat your *** off and pretend that your program is clean and wholesome.
