Just read this article and it is an interesting on the topic of athletics. The Job Corps has been located within CHS vicinity for a long time and at one time did have a football program. The track and football field are still there I believe. I am not going to argue that this is giving Cherokee or Swain an advantage and I do not believe this is an avenue for recruitment, but merely an avenue to allow some of these kids to compete.

It says the agreement allows Job Corps kids to "Co-enroll"...as long as that means the kids who are playing show up in the enrollment numbers of the school they are playing for, I think this is a good way to extend opportunities to kids who can really benefit from structure, discipline, and teamwork.

I don't think Job Corps enrollment numbers would make a difference at either Swain or Cherokee, unless perhaps it helped keep Swain in 1-AA. But I don't think they've been very close to being in the smaller bracket for a while now, and probably not for years to come.

Everyone can rest at ease. The numbers at Job Corps will not affect the numbers at either of the schools. Job Corps is for students ages 16-24. The vast majority of students are 20 yrs old or above.
Rules state that players can't be 19 before August 31. The chance of Ocon. contributing a total of 5 players would be pushing it. I would say that there may be 1 or 2 players a year, if that.

And again as stated, i didn't believe there would be an advantage for either school as I am aware of the average age of the students. and they might get a participant every now and again. Do not think it's not going to think change anything but for kids there it does give an extra activity to have.
