A cherokee fan said he heard a rumor of bad news for cherokee on the other site? whats the rumor? i dont want to drive 3 hrs to watch cherokee get killed if one of their star players is hurt or something. Ill just drive 2 hrs and watch my alleghany trojans hopefully compete with starmount whom i think they have never beaten before...ever

Think it's the lineman that had somewhat of breathing problem after smokey game. I heard he still isn't back. Line is one position Cherokee has some reserves. This game is all anyone can talk about around town. In fact swain put out a statement pleading for fans to show up bigtime so it won't be a Cherokee dominated crowd.
No I kow they have a kid with turf toe but he plays and is fine. He just sat out last week . The other lineman will playtoo so looks good for Friday . Per his mom
This is sounding like one of those games where half of Swain County will be at the stadium. Devils 35, Braves 21.
North Henderson isn't even halfway decent and they beat Swain, other than that there is smoky who was beating Swain at halftime, but yeah they "destroyed" them 35-16, and smoky almost lost to NB this year just so you know, that being said I think Swain can win this game but it will be very close
Here is my guess. Cherokee will come out super emotional and Swain will take advantage early and go up early 14-0. The Braves will claw back to take a 27-21 lead, only to see Swain score in the last 4 minutes to take a 28-27 win at home. If the game was at Cherokee I would take the Braves. I honestly expect this to be the game of the year in the SMC.

We all know you're a yellow jackets fan Fourth and that you live vicariously through anyone in the conference that can compete with Murphy (certainly not Hayesville), but you might want to pump the brakes on the rhetoric.
To be the man you have to beat the man, an until the Braves do that Murphy are still top DOGS in the conference.

Me either. I originally picked Cherokee on here to win by 14. I felt like they hadn't showed all their arsenal in the previous games. Then I got studying Swains schedule and seen they had played a much tougher schedule and they had the home field advantage so I changed my mind and picked Swain to win on the week 7 pickems. Lol. I will learn to stick with my gut feeling and not over analyze

This has to be Cherokees largest margin of victory ever for this rivalry. I believe they had a 34-0 shut out in ‘06 and this 38 point victory gives them a statement win and great turn around for the program.
