it may be mentioned down the board but UF

lost their DC?Dline coach to the pros. may put several kids who might have considered them off. i wish we could get chris in for a visit. he is a player and apparently a really good young guy.

Tell Red . . . . . . .

Visiting Ole Miss instead. Couldn't help himself, per VictoryRed/RockstarfromMars.

there is no way on this green earth that Coach DM will ever let Chris Jones visit Ole Miss. It will never be allowed, period, end of story.

Chris Jones will be a Mississippi State Bulldog. That is a fact. Never any doubt about it and I have never suggested otherwise. That doesn't mean everyone outside of Mississippi State had a fair shot at him the last 6 months, but that's just part of recruiting.

Nobody is complaining, just stating a fact. I'll remind you of this response next time you start whining about Ole Miss' recruiting.

I am so sick of hearing this crap from OM fans. He plays an hour from Oxford. Your own staffs fault. At the time he didn't have enough stars by his name, and that's all there is to it. Nothing unfair about your staff thinking they were too good for him. Go 17 yourself.

We know, we know. We are the cow pasture and Oxford is the mecca of all things holy. Why wouldn't these guys want to play there? I mean, you're OLE MISS, BY DAMN!! The FLAGSHIP!

You're the only one to say such ridiculous crap. Nobody is complaining about your recruitment of Chris Jones, just stating what happened. All schools do it, even Mississippi State and Ole Miss. It's part of it. Seems like you can sling the accusations at Ole Miss all day but can't handle them about MSU.

Proof??? That's why we're making fun of your lame ***. You're talking like it's fact, but you have no proof. Pure speculation.

I don't follow? Has anyone accused OM of making it "unfair" to get those guys, and has either rocketed to a #5 player in the country?

Neither of your requirements have merit in the discussion. Your initial assertion is that he did not have enough stars (he had 2) for Ole Miss to recruit him when he committed to Mississippi State. Ole Miss has one current 2* commit and at least one more that was a 2* at time of commitment. If you can't follow the logic in this discussion that's your own fault.

My initial argument is that you said nobody but MSU had a fair shot. Correct? That is ******* ridiculous. That was my "initial assertion"(keep using big words like that and people might think you're a doctor.) And then, yes, I said he did not have enough stars by his name, and that was the reason OM didn't offer him until 2 weeks ago. It has nothing to do with being unfair. I have no idea what that has to do with 2 guys State has no interest in. Seems like you're the one having trouble following the discussion.

And may I ask why you are in this thread

when OM just got a huge commit tonight in Treadwell? Instead you are on a State board talking about how unfair the recruitment of Chris Jones has been. You have a serious obsession issue.

Didn't want to start a new thread

I work at the hospital as well as Chris Jones mother. There were a few guys decked out head to toe in Ole Miss gear talking to her. I wouldn't think they're assistant coaches even tho my coworker thinks it's possible. Anyone ever heard of tactics like that. I still think he's a dawg

Haven't been reading all that closely the last few days, and unsure if that is said in seriousness or if my sarcasterisks may need some tuning given its direction at VR.

In recent history our coaches, it appears, have been pretty willing to let prospect - committed and uncommitted alike - visit wherever they want to as the process goes along.

If, and I emphasize if, the statement I'm replying to is actually the fans'/coaches'/MSU recruiting mindset, my question is, why? And if the quote was intended as a jab at something VR has said, I withdraw the question.

NEVER underestimate how unscrupulous they are and the depths to which they'll

stoop in order to get a recruit. If they'll sacrifice someone's daughter to slob a knob in order to get a recruit, what else will they do.

I think I just figured out why Victory Red "knows" so much about these 5 star recroots.**

Your coach had a fair shot starting last year by doing some scouting at Mississippi High Schools. Mullen offered him back then. I know he was an unknown to most people then, but it blows my mind that Freeze didn't know who he was either. Does he not have good contacts in the Mississippi High School coaching ranks?

Funny how no OM fans have replied to my question... Again - why did Freeze wait until the past few weeks to ID and offer Chis Jones?

Yea, Vicky didn't answer mine either. She wants to say she "knows" this and that, but she has zero proof. She's just a Yancy disciple.

Also, I think it's funny how she chooses something like Kimdeechee, and says "well I guarantee you he will be a Rebel...can't wait to hear y'all's excuses". As if 99% of the country doesn't already know he's going to OM. Way to step out on a limb with that insider knowledge, gal.

I'm a State fan and all, but do you really not think what VictoryRed is saying has any validity? You don't think a high school staff with 4-5 huge MSU fans and no OM fans will be more favorable to the MSU staff when it comes to recruiting?

OM was in Houston back in the summer, so it's not like they're just now thinking Jones is a worthy player. They haven't been as hard after him as MSU (by going through the Houston staff anyway), but I think they know that going through the high school staff isn't in their best interests anyway.

Also Houston is a big MSU town and the people in the community surrounding Chris Jones "have an interest" in seeing him go to MSU. You don't think that plays a part in it much like OM's stronghold in Batesville?

When the people in town that try to "be around you" like a groupie AND the entire high school staff favor a certain school, it certainly makes it easier for that school. All that PLUS MSU finding him 1st (which also had to do with who the high school staff wanted to "inform,") makes what VictoryRed is saying true.

That's good for MSU, we could use that kind of influence elsewhere
