Ive heard the comparison's to clowney and etc. Is our defense going to have autry with jones opposite next year? Is he going to come in and win the starting job for the season opener. Sure would be awesome to have a dude as talented as they say he is going to be.

The reports that I've read have stated he will, without a doubt, challenge for some playing time. If we're in the situation in which we're sitting a guy as talented at Preston Smith, our DL should be great.

I'm not predicting Jones to be a starter or anything, but he should get some quality reps next year and help our team.

We've also seen true freshman Ryan Brown make some good plays this year... as well as AJ Jefferson having a great fall camp. The future is bright for the D-Line. Chris Wilson has loaded the stable and I, for one, hope he's around to see it flourish (although I'm completely ok with him NOT calling plays).

I hear he's already better than any defensive end on our roster. Ole Miss can talk about their recruits but we'll have just as many sacks as they do next year. Hide and watch(well, assuming Wilson doesn't call plays, of course).

Based on what I saw in the All-Star game, he'd be a rare true freshman starter for us.

Gerry Hamilton (national writer for 24/7) was on Bill King this morning. Bill asked him what players are standing out to you at the UA all star practices. Gerry said there were 2. The first person he mentioned was Nkimdiche. The second player he mentioned was Chris Jones out of Houston, MS. That's pretty good praise.

It really is hilarious that the rebels go from landing #1 overall recruit to....

.....watching an MSU commit challenge said #1 recruit for the top spot, while at the same time, #1 recruit's interest in Ole Miss begins to wane as Signing Day draws nearer.

At the same time #1 recruit in MS, from an Ole Miss hotbed, delays his timetable for a decision that has been for months and months.

Yancy better hope Freeze comes through in the clutch or he's have to out-do his normal spin to keep his sheep intact. Mutiny on the ship!

No, you're paying to read Yancy, who doesn't pander to his audience at all. I'm just getting my info from readily available free articles that tend to be a tad more objective. What exactly was inaccurate in my post?

For one, I do not subscribe to Yancy Porter, or any Ole Miss recruiting website for that matter as I don't really care for circle-jerks.

As for the inaccuracy, there's an article written today by a non Ole Miss guy on SBNation about Nkemdiche with the headline "Hard For Me Not To Go To Ole Miss". Numerous players at the UA game have talked about Nkemdiche recruiting them to Ole Miss.

http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo.../3831674/robert-nkemdiche-ole-miss-commitment

Then there's this story by the C-L. However you may doubt the validity of it because it is written by John Talty alleged Ole Miss superfan. A quote from it:

Nkemdiche realizes as much. After seeing Ole Miss exceed expectations in 2012, but still fall just short in a few games, like at home against Texas A&M after building a large second-half lead, he feels he can come in and help out right away.
He may be bringing a few friends too. One player Nkemdiche is particularly close with is South Panola safety Antonio Conner, who is set to announce his college decision on Friday.
“Antonio is my dog,” he said. “We have a little something in the bag but we’re not saying too much.”
Asked by one reporter if Nkemdiche would let Conner go somewhere other than Ole Miss, he shook his head and said no.

http://www.clarionledger.com/article/20130103/SPORTS06/301030058/Ole-Miss-target-Robert-Nkemdiche-middle-recruiting-storm

That's all I could find that was released today.

Why hasn't he committed? Why did Conner move his date back? Why don't they get it over with? Why is Conner visiting Alabama? Why are other people outside Talty saying LSU/Alabama for Nkemdiche?

I think Talty has been severely discredited, pal.

If you read the article, Talty never says Nkemdiche is Ole Miss bound. Conner moving his date back is probably good thing for Ole Miss because a strong rumor came about a few days ago that he was going to announce Bama, despite still taking all visits. As for everything else, we'll find out in a month.

Can I have some of your articles for comparison's sake, though?

If I was a recruit, I would take all the visits I could whether my mind was made up or not..who would'nt??

I haven't seen any strong rumbling of Conner to anywhere other than OM although most concede Bama is the only speed bump there. By this point I take anything RK says worth a grain of salt - i think everybody pretty much assumes OM is in the lead, but I don't see why he wouldn't announce as I would think the coaches would want to sell his commitment to other guys.

I'll be surprised if those two end up anywhere but OM, but the longer it goes, the more nervous I would be if I were an OM fan. The same way I'm going to sweat Jones until he signs on the line.

Did you miss where Conner named Bama his leader?

Batesville (Miss.) Rivals100 four-star Antonio Conner said he'll make an official visit to Auburn later this month. However, he still plans to announce a commitment during the Under Armour All-American Game later this week.
He named Alabama his leader on Tuesday. Ole Miss and Mississippi State also are in the picture.
"I'm going to take a lot of trips," Conner said. "When I make my decision it'll just be my decision for right now." The 6-foot-2, 202-pound safety said that he has talked to both Smith and defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson and has removed both LSU and Georgia from consideration.

You are correct about the last part. The longer it goes, the worse for Ole Miss.

While I didn't see the interview (again, not subscribed), it was reported that he told one of the guys at the UA practices that Bama was his leader. So obviously that being just a few days before his announcement, it didn't look good.

I don't even get why he would commit to a school at all if he's still taking visits and undecided. But he's been one of the quiet ones all along.

That's what I'm saying. He named Bama his leader so obviously he wasn't sold. Now we have a better chance since he isn't committing to them tomorrow.

He will absolutely be given a chance to earn a starting spot. Mullen makes everybody earn their spot every offseason. So Chris Jones is even with Autry and all the other DEs when practice starts.

Now we're going in circles. That announcement was set in stone way back when. Fairly certain he just figured he'd either be headed to Ole Miss, or have his mind made up at the time. More than likely the former. Now, it's nearly a fact that he's looking around. May have been the whole time, who knows. But the recruitniks sure had him penciled in as a rebel.

2 weeks, right Denzel? Oh, I guess this quote from al.com is somehow supposed to mean that LSU is not on top, right?

Robert Nkemdiche, considered the top prospect in the country according to most recruiting services, has named a top two.

"Ole Miss and LSU would be my top two right now,"Nkemdiche told ESPN. "I would not say Ole Miss is on top, but they are really high."

So, he is supposed to do whatever his brother says?

When was the quote taken? I have no idea who is "on top".

And what makes you think the longer he waits the worse it is for OM?
Do you just say it to make yourself feel better?

I think we all know the answer to that.

Your questions, in order.....

1) Basically because the ONLY reason he's interested in Ole Miss by damn is his brother, and his brothers prediction didn't come true, yes.

2) Al.com. Just google Nkemdiche LSU. Don't look at omspirit.com

3) Common sense

4) No, I draw conclusions from factual evidence.

Allow your feelings to be hurt. Haha.

If you really think "more than likely the former", then I guess you haven't followed South Panola's top prospects and their recruitment. He set the date because he thought he would have it figured out by now. He doesn't. You could ask why Ole Miss hasn't sealed the deal, but you could also ask why hasn't Bama, MSU, etc.

No ****?

On no.1- No ****. His mom has said just as much.

And please explain how it's common sense that the longer a player waits to commit, the more likely he isn't going to that certain school? I would think there could be many variables that could be in play as to why he hasn't committed, yet.

Like I said, we all know the reason you keep repeating that.
And,no, little buddy. No feeling hurts at all. Haha!
