I hope Cena doesn't come back and squash this "new era" or we are back to not evolving top stars.

Also is Stephanie McMahon all of a sudden a face now with no rhyme or reason?
I bet you enjoy wrestling more than me if you can't sniff out that Stephanie angle. I envy you because it's still real to you damnit!

Some rumors are coming out on some wrestling websites that apparently Vince has given up on the Roman push. While triple h is still in favor of the push, Vince wants to have some nxt guys called up. Anybody read about this? Again just some rumor's floating around.

It's stupid to give up at this point. Just make the guy a full on heel. Then pair him with either a returning Cena or Rollins (face) and everything is solid.

I also, put zero stock into dirt sheets especially ole Dave.

Vince is probably drooling over Big Cass right now - tall, muscular, long hair. *Disclaimer - I like Cass. I think he's at least adequate in the ring and on the mic. I also think he has the necessary tools to be successful in Vince's universe. You could make him an enforcer/henchman for HHH (NXT connection of course) sometime down the road and get him some heel experience, then he could split with HHH and be ready for a huge push.

Booking is THAT easy. Don't know why creative makes it so difficult that Stephen Hawking couldn't figure it out.

As far as the rumor of Vince giving up on Reigns - I kinda of doubt that. Everyone knows that Vince hates to be wrong about something and always has to win in the end. I find it hard to believe that if he has been so hard headed about Reigns the past 2 years, that he would give up now.

That being said it has been close to 2 years of a huge push for Reigns. Vince has made creative bend over backwards to try and get him over as a face. When you have to "mute" the crowd for his entrances and stop him from come out through the crowd than it's probably not working. That plus the fact that ratings are not helping - outside the uptick after Payback - and you can see why maybe Vince may think it's time to move on.

I know I've not been the biggest Roman guy, but it's not because of him. It's because of the "forced" push for a guy who did nothing to earn it other than have the supposed "look" to Vince.

Obviously the guy can be a big star - maybe not face of the company - but a star. He is a great athlete and can work good matches with guys who are better in the ring than he is. In time he will get better in the ring too. Has a lot of work to do on the mic, but again that has a lot to do with creative trying to get him over and tell him what to do.

@HeismanWildcat85 is right the best thing to do is turn him heel. It should have happen a long time ago and let him cut promos like this:

That is the Roman we should be getting right now.

even if he were done, Vince likes to play the "long" game. build up hero kids favorite Cena taking the title away from the dirty hated Roman at next years WM.

If you turn him he has to lose matches and Vince most likely won't let that happen. I mean Hogan had to job to The Rock just because he was heel in 02.

They won't have the smark fans there so he will fine...

Interesting that the ESPN and WWE thing continues to grow. I know Vince was not happy at the money they got from NBC Universal on the latest negotiations but I can't see ESPN
wanting WWE programming. They already have Monday Night Football, College Football on Thursday nights and College basketball in the winter.

Sigh....

In 2002:
  • Hogan was past his prime (he was 49 years old in 2002).
  • Rock was in his prime (he was 30 years old in 2002).
  • Rock was a bigger star than Hogan (in 2002).
IF they programmed Cena/Reigns it is a bit of FU booking with some risk:
  • Smarks/adults despise Cena.
  • Smarks/adults don't like Reigns.
  • I guess that WWE thinks their hatred of Cena wins out and they get behind Reigns if a Reigns/Cena program unfolds.
  • Biggest risk is that fans don't care at all and ishes on the program.
  • Reward is that casual fans eat up a face v face feud, Cena puts Reigns over, and Reigns gets made.
  • Second biggest risk is that Cena does to Reigns what he does to everyone else and dominates the matches to the point that Reigns gets no tangible rub.

I feel pretty confident once Reigns beats AJ at Payback then Cena will make his grand return and go after Reigns.

If they really want to get Reigns over I do think they have to make Cena a heel and give Reigns a couple beat downs in order to build up the fan sympathy for Reigns.

Cody Rhodes has asked for his release. Can't say I blame him talk about a guy that was absolutely not getting any kind of push despite being a good performer.

Why is Becky Lynch being used so poorly right now? They raved about her and put her into the women's title match at Mania only to have her do the job to the likes of Emma and Dana Brooke. I understand that Becky is one of the best in ring female workers and that's good to enhance the new superstars. However, I think she should be getting more of a push. Her match vs. Sasha in NXT was one of the better matches that I've seen. I know people are all about the Bayley/Sasha match, but Becks put on a hell of a show. Plus, she's smoking hot, unlike Charlotte.

They dropped the ball with Cody in 2013 when he was hot as hell as a babyface feuding with the Authority. I always admired his dedication to his craft. Dude pulled off every ****** gimmick they saddled him with.

Cody is the only wrestler I've interviewed who kept kayfabe. It was my second WWE interview ever and I prepared to speak to Cody. However, 15 seconds before the interview I'm informed that he's doing the interview as Stardust. Then what transpired was this weird attempt to try and get Stardust to answer Cody's questions and what his opinion of Cody was and what not.

It told me that he was a real fan of how the business was back in the day and wanted to keep that part alive.

I really do think Cody is a main event talent as simply Cody Rhodes. I'm very happy that he wants to leave WWE. With ROH and NJPW as options, he can do great things instead of just swimming in the bottom to middle of the card.

I agree with Heisman that Cody Rhodes will succeed somewhere else - put these silly gimmicks aside and let him flourish.

You could definitely add Rhodes to the list of folks Crazy Old Grandpa hasn't used correctly. Agree on Becky Lynch but my question is where the heck is Sasha Banks??

Prediction time

Roman over AJ- Club turns on him...folks boo...then boo some more

Ambrose over Jericho

Club over Usos

Charlotte over Nattie

Rusev over Kalisto

Cesaro wins IC Title

New Day over the Vaudevillians

Corbin over Ziggler

Very strong rumor that Reth Sollins will return tonight?? Maybe the club would be with him. I would actually like that.

I've heard that they may be pushing for a Roman, AJ, Ambrose alliance to go against the Club and someone else. Rollins would be a perfect fit to that. The USO's got a nice push, but now they can go focus on re entering the tag scene with the Vaudvillains, New Day, Dudleys, etc.

I don't think The Club will turn. Just a hunch. A "better" story is the Usos turning on Reigns and joining The Club - then everyone mentioning that the Usos' cousin was friends with The Club in NJPW and complaining that Reigns only came to them when he wanted a favor.

Predication

Crowd will boo Reigns so loudly that Vince is force to mute them again.

Whatever they try to make Reigns a face will fail. Vince will sit in Gorilla and wonder what is wrong with the crowd.

All because Vince push Cena for so long with SUPERPUSH. Does the crowd hate Reigns? No, do they hate his booking? Yes because they know it's now going to be his show for the next 10 years.

All Vince had to do was have Cena get pinned a few more times, while helping get others over on the roster. Stone Cold and The Rock when they were the main guys they still "cheated" not won clean.

The crowd wants Reigns to lose they haven't seen it in a year clean.

AJ Styles needs chants tonight, this is a night that can make him. An low rated ppv but still big pops means he can be in the titles hunt for years.

They are making Roman look straight stupid at this point and only making it worse for him. Actually surprised Seth Rollins returned this early. Thought it would be in a month or so.

Well didn't see all of the show but sounded like a really good show. Main event was awesome and I actually was believing for a few moments AJ was going to win .

Glad to see Rollins back, he will be the good guy for sure against Roman.

Decent enough show.

IC title match stole it for me. Not crazy about Miz retaining, but I'm at least interested in the IC Title picture.

Main event was decent. Loved the "You still suck" chants. I've missed Rollins. Curious to see how WWE books him moving forward, especially given he's de facto face in a feud with Reigns.

Actually what will happen is Vince will decide that Rollins was great as a heel so let's have him be chkn **** heel again and they will try that and he will get so many huge crowd pops and Vince might finally explode in his fits of rage.

I can hear it now backstage......WTH is wrong with these people!!!! How can you cheer these tactics!!!!! Roman is so pretty you'd think they would get the drift here and cheer him after all these heels he overcomes.......but noooooo, they cheer the bad guys and all their bad guy tactics!!!!! GD millennials!!!!!

Roman and AJ both put on one hell of a show tonight. Booking needs to just face the fact that the days of face/heel is over. The business has been exposed for 20 years. Fans pick and choose their favorites by who they like, not by what the storyline says. Austin and Rock were both traditional heels (in the pre exposed era) but were over big time with the crowd in modern times. Let Roman do his thing, being dirty, cheap, and I guarantee he will get over. The fans have been smartened up and boo simply because Vince is being ridiculous with him. The kid has all the makings of a superstar, just run with it!
