His antics really don’t bother me. Players love to know a coach has their backs to that extent. Refs are never held accountable

Well Uconn is going down the ******* aint they?
His freshman can't shoot Consistently. Shocker.

They might finish December with a losing record. Matter o fact its likely.

I really cannot contain my joy. Could'nt happen to a better program!

Tbf, they're coming of back 2 back titles. They won't care. Now, if they suck again next season.....that's a different story.

Things could get rough for UConn before the New Year:

Tonight: Dayton
December 4th: #17 Baylor
December 8th: @Texas
December 14th: #3 Gonzaga
December 18th: #22 Xavier

Hurley should be thankful he's not coaching in the Big 12 or SEC this year.

I think you could make the argument that these 3 losses already took them out of the running for the #1 overall seed. Unless they literally run the table and other teams falter. But it's not even December. That's a tough schedule and Uconn might find themselves out of the running for a 2 seed before conference play even starts.

I don't think he's a coach who has his teams' backs any more or less than any other coach. In fact, you see a lot of his behavior angled at his players too.

This attitude might be fine when you have a top3 team and you're winning 35 games a season. But once those losses start happening, this behavior is not always a positive. And it's for sure going to turn some away some portion of recruits.

There's a fine line between a guy like Izzo (old school, tough) and a guy like Knight (psychotic, abusive). Hurley is starting to trend towards Knight.

They do not have the team to go on a run. I expect them to struggle all season.

I know some in here think that's how northerners act, but no, it's not. I grew up in the NE, that's not something you see. That's not normal.
He is constantly in an act and he gets really, really high on himself and loves his celebrity status. He's extremely smug and when he crashes, it's a really hard fall, but, he still uses it as an act to get attention.
The guy is a huge mess and this season is going to really expose him.
Winning back-to-back titles made him think he was a God and he's going to really hate what 24/25 is going to be. He won't handle it well. He's a child.

UConn 36/48
3 opponents 76/98

This was the free throw difference over their 3 games.
Dude is a psycho and his level of arrogance really crossed the line last year. Ref treatment and talking **** to fans and opposing players. I love seeing him sit there in a pile of **** right now and eat it.
They will get better but if he doesn’t back of the refs then he will continue to put a huge target on his/his team backs.

Couldn’t happen to a bigger dbag.

Years ago NBA referee Steve Javie told Pat Riley the following: “It’s giving us [referees] absolute delight to watch you and your team die.”

I think that college basketball refs are enjoying Hurley and his team die this season. So is the entire nation. He's the biggest douche since Bobby Knight, and might even be worse.

WTH?

What the hell am I looking at ?

What grown man does that?
Outside the Theatre...
I’m guessing he was trying to show he cares ?
Personally I would’ve walked out of there with my head held high. Was he really crying or pretending to?

They were 25-8 before he won his first championship. I hope they continue to get beat up but I would not assume they are done for this year yet.

I am super happy we didn't end up getting him as a coach. I never really watched their games before so I didn't know he was kind of a nutball.

Karaban hit his head on the floor and went to the hospital. Probably the whole week of calamity was too much. I give him a pass. Glad his team sux though!

He's thinking about whether he should've taken his $11 million/yr offer, lol. Glad he did not take it!!
Just think we were a “yes” away from the entire fanbase going ape on the AD for signing this guy for a massive contract when we all, including me especially, begged for Hurley in royal blue

"We all" is incorrect. I called for Pope from day one and got laughed off of the board by Saul, Richie etc. I'm laughing now.....and enjoying each game to the fullest. We didn't need another mercenary. Keep it in house I said and got berated. I couldn't be laughing any harder.

Saying there’s no way of fixing it mid tournament is not humble IMHO. It’s an indictment. You’re the coach, fix it. Feels like some Calipari level deflection to me.
Oh I'm not saying his methods were right, but he was surprisingly humble. I thought he was going to continue on with his dumb, childish act.

Eh a majority of us really wanted him before Pope was hired. He would have been "our" a$$hole.
Most did not actually. I think some of the vocal masses tried to push him down our throats as the favorite but a lot did not want his whiney argumentative, pompass, righteous attitude here.
