Coach, I thought we were making room for "IT" yesterday?

That deserves a bump, and an answer. Won't get the latter, but it deserves one.

I think it's time to close the door on pleasant surprises. Cue the scramble to fill up the class. Watch out, La Tech. We coming for yo milkshake.

One of two things:

Either (a) You believe that Chris Jones is a young man who had a tough decision to make, visited both schools, and thoughtfully considered his decision until the very end before deciding on MSU (according to the words out of his own mouth today). If you believe this option then you have to believe that C34 doesn’t know ****, that he claimed that "IT" was coming in hopes that there would be a big commitment that he could claim as "IT," and when that never materialized he tried to sell the sad story that "IT" is actually recruiting dirt uncovered by Chris Jones which will one day bring us to our knees, a story which will never come to fruition but which allows C34 to continue to kick the can down the road and convince morons that he is "in the know";

or

(b) You believe that Chris Jones was on a top secret mission to gather sensitive information at Ole Miss and the Sigma Nu house (was he wearing a wire, using one of those hidden cameras?), which required repeated top secret visits to the Ole Miss campus, and then lied in his interview today when he said that he was 80% Ole Miss as of last night and that he stayed up all night mulling the decision, and that Ole Miss will one day be destroyed because of the "nuclear weapons" uncovered by Chris Jones, MSU spy.

Pretty obvious we had some folks in the program...

Coach34: Holmes is going to USM to help make room for "IT"
that thought we were going to get the Alexanders. Didn't happen, time to move on. I will say that my biggest disappointment with Mullen's recruiting is that we still even after 3 straight bowls, tremendous ongoing facility improvements and umpteen sellouts still don't have a lot of reach in pulling highly rated players from out of state. There are a few examples of players we have gotten (Ross this year, Redmond last year) but out of state we still seem to be getting mostly the 3 star types and usually when the in state school is not that interested..

It's not lying if you are doing it for the good guys. Then, bad things are good and good things are good. Sheesh, even a low post count person like me understands recruiting espionage...**

The beauty is that the 2014 and 2015 classes in Mississippi are VERY strong and deep -- and a lot of that talent falls in MSU strongholds. Then, in 2016, we have the TeamUSA boys and will end up recruiting great nationally that year(Washington is a killer recruiter for us).

For the 2013-2016 classes, THIS is the one that I was most worried about. Was a very shallow talent pool in MS this year and a high percentage of it had preexisting OM ties...

Everyone please stop bumping this thread. Now that NSD is basically over, we have assigned all of our recruiting spies to follow coach and get and admittance of being wrong. I can't share all the details right now...**

But OM didn't do much in state this year really...

got Buchanan and Moore of which I think both are overrated for what they will produce on the college level and then some offensive linemen who are generally lower rated than the ones we got. Conner is their one real jewel from in state this year and he was right in their lap. Of course though they kicked our tails and many other tails on reeling in top out of state talent.

I didn't get that from Yancy. It came from somewhere else. Always could have been wrong. There's sure a lot of junk always floating around.

I'm sure that played a factor...

I'm guessing we were guaranteed to take 2 when Dak's on-campus backup left.
but we were going to take 2 regardless once we realized the risk of losing Sandberg. Golden was a walkon for a reason so I'm not sure how much we were depending on him helping us down the line.

He's just going to ignore this thread it appears

Because there's simply no way to answer without admitting that he's been as clueless as the rest of us.

Some more questions for Coach and the other "insiders" that probably won't get answered:

1. Coach told us that the thing he was so excited about with Jones was not anything that happened during his first visit to Oxford, but something he did when he got back to Houston. What was that again?

2. I believe that Cadaver "confirmed" that the big top-secret news they were all giddy about regarding Jones was that he had convinced an OM recruit to flip, or at least convinced another recruit to climb aboard. Who was that again?

3. I believe we were told explicitly by Coach in his attention-whoring thread on Jones last week that the super-secret info he couldn't tell us about was NOT that Jones was acting as a mole. Yet today all we hear from him regarding Jones is that he came back with "nuclear weapons". What's up with that?

Coach, you "called" Jones to MSU, had a better than 50% chance of being right, and I'm glad that you were. But no one with half a brain seriously thinks you know ****. Today was just yet another example.

I love the awkward silence from Cunt34 in this thread.

He's a chest-thumping gorilla when he guesses right, but disappears like a little ***** when exposed as a clueless dipshit.

Its (a). It is intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer that no one here knows any more than the average Joe on the street when it comes to what talented high school senior football players are thinking or what they are going to do from one hour to the next. To claim otherwise proves that you are a fool. And it makes you look quite stupid. This scenario has played out time and time again recently on this board and all others that are dedicated to collegiate sports. It is better than Saturday morning cartoons, and the participants are about as intelligent as the ones in the cartoons.

I'm not sure "who" this is talking about -- but there was heavy rumors and insinuation from the Ms/Ala all-star game forward that Derrick Jones preferred MSU, but didn't have a committable offer from us because of some slow camp times in the 40. We all know that Mullen gets hung up on measureables and prototypes and is missing alot of MS talent because of it(which I thought was ******** -- and I thought it was SO obvious in that game that DJ was the best receiver in MS this year -- much better than Scott Austin). Anyway, on Chris Jones' OV weekend to Oxford (by this time it was obvious Austin was going to accept another offer after being asked to greyshirt) there was talk that we were going to get Derrick Jones in for a visit and probably offer him. However, Fred Ross was on campus at this same time, apparently sent us pretty good signals, and the DJ visit never happened...

just a guess...no idea if this was connected in any way...

I thought I made that clear. Jones sat down with the staff after returning from his visit and told them about every second of his trip- what he liked, what he didnt, what he was offered, info on other recruits, etc...

Jones was in the bag and never intended to go to OM.

Why did he lie to the media? He started messing with a girl in Oxford that was provided to him-he has a g/f in Houston and didnt want her to find out- so he lied and said he wasnt there...there's not many things that will make a 17 yr old drive to Oxford and get there at 1am- but ***** is definitely one of them.

Believe me or dont- up to you. I'm just telling ya what happened.
