you guys are a riot, no wonder our board was voted last for football iq on the main board
Wow. In the end outside of 0-0 and 7-0 Temple never had the ball with a chance to tie or pull ahead in this game. When you reflect on this game, do you seriously think our offense should have done more?
OSU (ranked 5th in the country) only ran 27 run plays in their whole game vs. and FCS opponent. Gunning it the whole time.
They put up 482 yards vs our 452. 9 of that 30 yard differential, by the way, was us showing class and taking a knee for a 5 yard loss to end our game vs Day choosing to run another play picking up 4 yards.
Prefer to look at a different stat? OSU punted the same number of times as us in their game (3). They also went 3 and out once too (same as us). Our 3 and out was inevitable by the way - after the pick 6 last year vs Iowa in that situation there was no chance we were trying anything there.
Now yes, OSU played their back up QB some in the second half but don’t think for a minute they weren’t trying to put up style points on every single possession. Again - no eating clock (only 27 run plays). My point here is no team (even the most aggressive ones) score on every single possession. I’m not understanding how anyone could fault our production. Temple isn’t good, but their D isn’t worse than Youngstown or Charlotte’s.
