A big down side to what I’ve posted would be finding 6 non conference games for football.
There may wind up being more conference’s throughout the state.
But I was trying to keep the ADM’s close, And the school’s as close to each other as possible.
I think having split conferences you’ll windup with smaller school’s with higher seeds in the playoff, that don’t really deserve it.
I always felt the point of having a conference was to compete against equal size school’s.
Pitting 300 kids against 800 for a conference title don’t seem right to me.

When Oak Grove opened and N. Davidson and Ledford dropped to 2A, Davidson County school system fought hard to keep all their schools in one conference. Only exception is S. Davidson which is 1A. So I highly doubt they would be joining any other conference.

I've heard there are some that want out since it's a 10 team conference and that limits them to only a handful of nonconference games. Personally I think its ridiculous to have a conference of more than 8 teams unless its split into 2 divisions like a college conference.

Ledford, Oak Grove and North want to stay together. I don’t know of any other county schools that want to leave. In fact, some of the ‘less energetic’ schools, like the extra teams because they don’t have to bother scheduling non conference games.

If I were South Rowan or Salisbury, I’d probably want out if I thought I could find somethig smaller. They are literally blazing a pathway up Hwy 52 on a daily basis. Lots of travel for them. Although Not as bad as back in the early 2000’s when West and South Iredell were briefly in the CCC.

Why not just have a NW1A and MV2A instead of 2 split conferences? Also, don’t forget to add Millenium Charter - they will most likely be in the 1A conference with MA and ES by next alignment.

This is one reason why I’m only wanting a 6 or 7 team conference’s to start with. With charter school’s coming in to play. And school’s ADM’s up & down ever year., adding a school to a near by conference want affect two if not three different conferences.

The only thing that could hurt that is if Thomasville has to go 1A. That’ll almost assuredly put them in the Yadkin Valley Conference again. That’d be a drag.

It’s possible... but Winston area charters don’t have football. I honestly don’t think that a WS Prep conference would be any worse for Thomasville than having to go to N Moore and Chatham Central.
