SMH, why not just congratulate the young man for picking a great school where he obviously feels comfortable with the staff. While the comments may be a shot at some posters it definitely sounds like a shot at the young man.

How is Wake considered a below average team? Maybe historically but not the past 5 years. Their best player also a defensive end like Eli Hall, Boogie Basham was drafted in the 2nd round.

Said he wanted to stay close to home and get a great education. Said that was Duke or Wake Forest. Like his grandmother told him, follow your heart, and that is what he did.

The only reason I spoke on this, because crest whole fan base kept listing his offers, and had huge schools to get him to the next level. But now wake is powerhouse program okay. Eli will do well, hes a monster, just thought he was going where football is known lol

mentioned being close to home, the education, and connecting with wake DL coach more than anyone else. <— that’s huge, it’s all about the relationship
wake has probably been recruiting him the longest, so it’s an established and comfortable relationship.
currently he’s the top rated player in wake’s class. he has a good chance to see the field sooner than later. and he likes the staff.
yeah, he’s got a lot of major P5 offers, but being just another guy at higher brand SEC/ACC school and knowing you’re going to get recruited over at your position year after year isn’t appealing to everyone.
he’s likely to have more NIL opportunities as a consistent starter at wake than he would if he’s fighting for playing time at say auburn for example
