I wonder how he went from having to retire here in 2017 for health reasons to being able to be a head coach. Interestingly enough, his wilkipedia biography doesn't even mention his time at Rutgers.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Kill

Funny, because his Twitter handle/bio still has him listed as the OC for Rutgers Football. (Looks like someone fixed the Wiki...Rutgers is there for 2017 in his career)

I agree -- but I thought his issue was seizures. Perhaps he found a more effective medication.
When he was at Rutgers, he said he gained control by restricting carbohydrates and exercising. More recently, at the end of 2022, he said he was running 10 miles per day.

A keto diet can work wonders for SOME people with epileptic seizures. Sugar and processed foods can cause a host of problems for a lot of people. Basically, most fast food is poison to many people.

He also didn't go through the pressures of a season as HC for a while. Remains to be seen if he can do it for multiple seasons.

He was the reason we went 4-8 in 2017 and won the only 3 B1G wins under Ash as Offensive Coordinator. I would have loved to see Rutgers promote him to head coach and retired Chris Ash after the season.
That was a run heavy Offense which was the exact right thing to do with our personnel. Yesterday I saw more balance which shows he coaches to the players and the competition.

His QB is a baller.

Tunde Fatukasi looked good for Bowling Green. 6'5" and over 300 lbs. Why did RU pass on him? Could he be any worse then this year's OL?

Not sure we passed on him but starting and playing at that level is much easier to do and some kids feel like if they’re going to work 100 hours a week for 50 out of 52 weeks they would rather get on the field than be a backup. I think you know this and you just like to stir the pot with every backup and every transfer.

And also former coaches haha.

No, not the case at all about stirring the pot. I like to keep an open mind and eyes on potential transfers. But you proy think everything is fantastic and we don't need some OL help. And a QB. And WRs. Sheesh. You see, other coaches win with lesser talent.

Jerry did the best he could with the talent he had to work with, but RU FB was rated the #112 offense under him.
I believe, but could be wrong, many on Rutgers message boards wern't that happy with the way the RU O looked at that time.
Tim Beck the Aggies OC might be the one we should be asking for.
He was Pittsburgh St's HC (82-35) then moved on to being TCU's offensive analyst in 2021 before Kill brought him to NMSU

Because they’re not playing 3 Top 15 teams. Yeah we need to get better everywhere and I like Kill but it’s not like we had some ingenious offense to go 4-8 when he was here. We had Gus the bus and we rode him. We also finished 4-8 which is same as this year so it’s not like we got over any humps. Kill is a solid coach and Tunde is probably a solid OL. They both finished 6-6 in much weaker conferences. Don’t forget to post about Buffalo playing now.

I never implied Kill should be the coach here, but Tunde deserves a look, and might consider coming here.

Thanks for the reminder on Buffalo. We were out on a four hour hike most of the day. But I caught the highlights. Cole Snyder is lucky to have escaped the futility that is RU offense. He threw for over 3,000 yards this season, something that took Noah 2 years to accomplish when you add the two years together and something that has not happened since Mike Teel 2008. Pathetic.

yes Cole went to a program that had a roster that was competitive with it's conference foes.
At RU he might not have been as successful with the type of talent RU has compared to other B1G programs.
But he might have been a good option to start after Noah went down .
But Vedal knew how to run an offense that pass protection wasn't anything to brag about
Can't say his B1G play would have posters here singing Snyder's praise or complained about if he stayed and played.
All I know is Snyder found a program that he could thrive in, instead of doing a Ben Gazzara in passing situations .

Last 3(0-3), 13-116, @Penn St 6-35, @Ind 0-41, vs MSU 7-40

We were quite competitive in the first 6 games that season, minus tOSU, PF 111 PA 122, until the last 3 which I think JK's health declined toward the end which led to the slide skewed the success of that season. 2014(3-5), 2017(3-6) and 2020(3-6) were our best years as B1G members.

2021 NMSt(2-10) PF 271 PA 485, FCS SC St 43-35, UMass 44-27
2022 NMSt(7-6) PF 331 PA 311

Lost First 4(0-4) PF 32 PA 147, Nevada, Minn, UTEP, Wisc0
Won 7 of last 9(7-2) PF 299 PA 164, Hawaii, L FIU, NM, UMass, Lamar, L Missouri, Liberty, Valparaiso, and Bowling Green

They postponed a game from a players death, made up the game vs an FCS team last week of the season and qualified for a bowl. The schedule was pretty weak, 2 wins over FCS, but he still got the job done to get a bowl and a bowl win in year 1.
