Crazy stat. When you look at the common 8 teams these 2 have played the average margin of victory is the same. The average score in the Crest games is 47-18. The average victory in the KM games is 36-7. Both teams winning by an average of 29 points.

We were aware. Both teams have been just as dominant but playing different styles of football. A lot of people get caught up in the flash of Crest’s style of play.

I do not have a narrative to drive but I know football. I’ve played, coached, and watched plenty of video. Crest has a great group of skill guys and a really good group of db’s. All high school teams have flaws if you know football, KM, Crest, Dudley, Hickory, etc are all no different. As a coach you try to cover that flaw up or jump on a team early to discourage them some. KM had a fatal flaw last year with their defense that EL took advantage of when no one else was able. I watched it all last year but EL had the right combination of players, coaches, and scheme to crack the code. Crest has a fatal flaw that no have quite exposed yet in their offense. KM is capable of attacking this flaw because of the way this defense is built but we will see tonight. From a coaching prospective I am curious to see what both teams do and adjust during the game. That’s the part I get excited about.
The we was us in KM. The caught up part meaning that with the way that Crest scores on offense and the amount of points they score many people only look at that aspect and make judgements or statements. Crest and KM play two different styles of football this year but both are effective with their style and get the same results. It just looks different. In the football world a 24-0 score can be more dominating than a 48-24 score but people only see the 48. If that makes sense.

It is pretty impressive when you look at the other side of the ball as well.
Crest D given up 2,238 yards. 279 avg.
KM D given up 1,654 yards. 183.7 avg.
*Now Huss and Crest stats are not posted on MaxPreps so this is based on 8 Crest games and 9 KM games.
*This also doesn’t include special team yards.
Which all this means it should be a great game tonight. As much as I can’t stand Crest I hope both teams stay healthy and can have a long playoff run.
