Not knowing who knew what and when they knew it, it's hard to be too over-the-top critical of tangential actors in the early days of covid. It was a weird time. The problem I have with the whole episode is sort of twofold. One is that from people who should have known better, a campaign of lies was perpetuated for a good length of time, as well as the "deplatforming" of people and de-licensing of clinical providers who reported factual information. Added to that is the reluctance in many governmental bodies to relinquish control of people's social interaction when it became obvious it was unnecessary. I think MAHA's/Kennedy's approach is pretty reasonable. Scale back the recommendation to receive it to only the most potentially vulnerable, while in parallel conducting legitimate safety trials on the substance(s). I don't know if sufficiently accurate epidemiological data was collected to either refute or validate claims of either efficacy of the shots or grave harm from them, but I'm sure there's something that can be done going forward to screen people who received the shots to determine if there's residual evidence of any ticking time bombs.
One interesting thing is that I spring for sort of a concierge functional medicine online service to get expanded blood work done beyond what your typical primary care doc will do. Starting this year they had you fill out a questionnaire that asked very specific questions about tyour covid vaccine history, which brands and how many shots/boosters received before sending authorization order to the lab. That makes me think they believe having been vaccinated is relevant to a person's health as indicated by biomarkers, and/or they are looking to compare populations of various covid shot status to see if there are significant differences. So I don't think it's a nothing burger, but I also don't think it's clear that the mRNA shots were poison either.
