outside of that I want Auburn to get beat by everyone and get shut down by the NCAA... I want Oregon to beat them so that the NCAA will have no reason not to throw Auburn probation time

I did think it was funny that after going off on how superior the PAC-10 is, the only quote he could find from someone who's actually coached in both conferences was
In normal years, the SEC is stronger every year.

to win a BCS title if they win tonight the Pac-10 teams, outside of USC, have been a total non factor in the BCS NC game. Seems odd to write an article gloating about a league that's really only been one team deep until now and that team ended up on severe probation because of their recruiting practices.

Yeah we're in the conference, but one of our teams winning a title doesn't do anything for us. What benefits have we reaped from our conference winning the last 4 NC games?

<span class="pp"></span>The championship game is worth about $21 million to Auburn and the rest of the conference. According to the SEC's distribution system, Auburn will receive a $1.95 million payout, plus a travel allowance (about $2.4 million, according to Carr), for the game in Arizona. The remainder of the money will be split the 13 ways.

I can promise you the SEC doesn't have the biggest TV contract because it covers the biggest markets.

I don't keep up with all the figures but because how the SEC is set up, we kind of want to continually have teams in the BCS since we reap some of the finances. I don't know if it matters if them winning or not effects how much they get though.<div>
</div><div>Also... Did Plaschke refer to Vanderbilt as an out of conference school?</div><div>
</div><div>"<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; ">Since then, while the Pac-10 schools continue to beat each other into anonymity, the SEC powers have gotten fat on nonconference games against Louisiana trade schools and homecomings against Vanderbilt."</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; ">
</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; ">I've always thought Plaschke was a dumbass, at least there's proof in his writings. Also, that sentence is filled with so much spin. He talks about how the Pac-10 continually plays a hard in conference schedule, but talks about the SEC's OOC schedule when basically the same argument can be said for both conferences 10 fold. You mean to tell me that New Mexico, Tennessee and Portland State is oh so much harder than Arkansas State, Clemson, ULM and Chattanooga? Get real...</span></div>

Some more inane Lane Kiffin quotes and horrible logical fallacies (having four bowl teams is better than having nine; because then you're more likely to lose one or five!)
That having been said I'm shedding no tears for these teams for losing their bowl games:
UT- you lucked your way into a bowl game in your own state and choke. At least Junior and Lulu have a shorter drive home this time.
Georgia- I thought I was watching our epic 2007 offensively challenged game, except we actually put together a (1, singular) drive that won the game. But thanks for giving CUSA their greatest win ever.
UK- got beat by a coachless Pitt outfit. Didn't have their QB for the same reason Pitt still doesn't have a coach. But on a positive note, nobody will ask poor Randall Cobb if he can get them one of the basketball player's autographs again.

I sort of feel like rooting for a fellow SEC team just because they are a fellow SEC team is living vicariously through them. I simply get no additional satisfaction out of saying look what the SEC did when we win. It's like a friend from high school marrying a hot model and claiming that you're with her too.

I'm really just curious as to the average OM fan's mindset these days. Do y'all care enough to pull for Michigan, or did you want the SEC/Mississippi to look good and beat the Big 10leven?

To show you this isn't a flame or setup, I'll go first. I was completely pulling for Ole Miss to beat Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl two years ago, maybe for the first time in my life. We were so far down the ******* that the rivalry really didn't matter to me at that point. Ole Miss was far enough ahead of the CroomDogs that I felt like it didn't matter, so I wanted the SEC to beat down the Big 12 on a national stage, which you did.

Last year, I was a little more neutral, but in the end I pulled for the SEC and felt good about your win. We had already won our game head to head, so I felt like it couldn't hurt us too much.

Now that we're competitive again, I'm fairly certain I'll go back to wanting you to lose every game, but I was pulling for you in those two.

THANK YOU. Team SEC sucks. State fans that go for SEC all the time suck at being state fans.

"Hey, SEC football, board up your sweet home and turn down your Lynyrd
Skynyrd and do it now, because you're fixing to get punked by the
Pac-10."

The SEC is Football..

<div>Do I cheer for the SEC in every game they play in? no. Do I cheer for the SEC when we are in the national spotlight, like tonight? Hell yes. If you cant be proud of being part of the most dominate conference in college football then go to USM.</div><div>

SEC WEST has 5 teams in Top 15, the PAC 10 only has two receiving votes in the poll.

I wish Auburn and the Mule would have hung 50+ on the Ducks last night. I get so tired of all these pundits putting the SEC down year after year, only to have the SEC kick some *** on the field in the BCS game...
