Ok hypothetical question here. Let’s say you lose tomorrow and now you are playing a SWAC team on Saturday…. Do you hold your rotation guys a second time? And risk going 0-2 without starting any of your normal starting pitchers?

Yes. You play to win the regional until you win it or lose twice.

You have to go all in. If you lose Friday, it’s McPherson or Sullivan vs BCU. Worst mistake you could make would be to use one of your 3 weekend guys vs them when you know you have to win 3 from Northeastern & FSU on Sunday & Monday.

I like the move. There is a chance of storms in Tallahassee tomorrow night. If you have a long delay after 1st pitch then can go get someone else from the pen without feeling bad about having burned either Pico or Evan

Absolute best case scenario now is we win tomorrow night while BC somehow finds a way to beat FSU tomorrow afternoon.
We may need to score a few runs tomorrow night though boys - like 10 to 13 runs.

The more I think about it, I'm fine with the strategy. Kinda nice to have a pitching coach, who's probably 99% sure these are his only remaining games as the HC at MSU, running things. Looks like he's gonna do some **** a coach with something to lose would be afraid to try.

Parker must know there is a new coach and he's not being retained and trying to end it fast so he can get out there. to find a job**********

Is there some piracy way to watch the game? Don't have access to ESPN+

There are a lot of piratey channels on YouTube that show games of all kinds live. Just search Mississippi State baseball at game time. You'll probably find some way to watch it. Might be low quality.

Man I didn’t realize how bad Davis was this year. His conference stats ….my goodness. Maybe we are just using him as an opener to steal some innings
I think it's the right move. He's power like NE hasn't seen all year. I don't know the stats, but this team cannot have seen much 95 with sink all year.

I won't be surprised if Parker just feeds them a steady diet of one or two innings each from our hardest throwers. Just can't be walking and hitting guys.

TBH, I don't get it. Maybe with BOC ready to come on board we are just good to get this thing over. I thought sure it would either be Kohn or Siary. Why would you go all the way down to a non-weekend starter? When we tried Davis as an SEC starter earlier in the year in the SEC it did not go well.

No way. Parker is trying to win the regional.

Again, you save your two best starters for the weekend AND get what on paper looks like a great matchup against a team like this -- it's a strategical chance worth taking in my opinion. I mean, we have to hit and score runs against a lefty which has not been our strength all year, but we were going to have to do that no matter who started for us.

If Davis only pitches a couple tonight, I'd assume he's going to pitch again in the regional too. Which is not a bad idea.

He’s not facing an SEC team. They wouldn’t make the tournament if they played an SEC schedule. He might be the best pitcher they’ve faced all year.

IMO, this is a reach no matter to me how you look at it. We are starting a non-SEC weekend starter against a team seeded higher than we are in the regional. Yea, if it works Parker looks like a genius but, if it doesn't, it looks rather dumb to go into the loser's bracket this way. Northeastern is a well coached, veteran team even though its obvious they've played a very weak schedule.
