yesterday's game had more to do with Holliday trying to catch the ball with his junk rather than with his glove. Nice play. Wondering how long he had to ice down his jewels after the game.missouridawg said:It has nothing to do with our pitching... and everything to do with timely hitting....
Also, SpikeTV just named the Chicago Cubs that worst fans in ANY sports acorss the entire world. Congratulations on finally winning something.
As opposed to the NFL, where your great season is ruined by one game, not 3 or 4?RebelBruiser said:You finally get the reward of making the playoffs, and then every year there are a handful of teams whose celebration of a 6 month long season of success is ended in 4 days.
While the Cubs have a national following, Chicago's not yet proven that they can consistently play well enough to choke in October. Considering the team's following and obvious passion of its fans, I'm surprised that they've not done better.tilla said:1) How to get the fans involved. 64 teams out of 347 schools = 18.4%How bad would the NCAA tourney suck if it were just 8 teams?
Baseball is the most random of any of the major sports. Winning just 60% of your games is considered an outstanding season. In the last 10 seasons, fewer than 8% of the teams have won at least 97 games (60%). Winning 60% of your games in any other sport is mediocre.RebelBruiser said:And every series would be 7 games.
So you used to love it when only 4 teams got in and even more were eliminated half way through the summer? Got ya. Now I see where you are coming from. Like I have said the only thing I would change is to add a few double headers each year to shorten the season by a week, and possible add one more WC team where the 2 would have to play a one game play off to determine who gets in. Besides that I would change nothing8Dog said:they try to support their side of the argument with something.
Hell, the NBA lets more than 50% of the teams in the playoffs.
You just have so many teams that are playing out the string for the last third of the season. Either give them something to play for or end their misery.
And at best, make this **** interesting.
I used to love baseball, but its just so boring compared to what the sports world has to offer now.
