Is he going to redshirt this year? I know he was hurt throughout camp and into the season. It would probably be better for him (and our depth going forward at RB) if he takes a redshirt it would seem.

He's already had a redshirt year, so he will not be eligible for a medical redshirt for this year.

Yes, but didn't he take a standard redshirt early on? If he is hurt, which at least he was in camp and in the beginning of the year, would he now be able to take a medical redshirt? Aren't they separate things?

No, you have 5 years to play 4. Only if you lose 2 years to medical redshirts can you get a 6th year.
