He was off because he was running for his life and our line didn't adjust and

couldn't protect him.......Yeah, it makes a guy a little uneasy when you don't have time to throw the damn ball........

Russell was fairly well protected early

He was not nearly as accurate in the early going as he typically is.

You're right. He threw the ball high all the first half. Don't like saying it, but that shows signs of being a little scared, or too pumped up maybe. Hope it's the latter

Well, we needed Prescott in there tonight to run the ball. It was shocking to see #27 run up the gut over and over and over. Since the coaches were hell bent on running, it might have helped to have a running threat in at QB. Should have at least tried it for a couple of series in the mid to late 3rd quarter. Then again, that would have required the coaches to make an, gulp, adjustment.

Genius my thoughts exactly how hard is it to defend an option with only one option.

Tyler out, Dak in? Bull. Best QB in MSU history. 4-years in the system. The guy you played against Bama & LSU defense. And now you need to play your backup guy against a overachieving 5-6 team? ********. The problem wasn't at QB. Lets start with the 300 pounders getting hit in the nose by the small reb DL.

^^^This - everybody can complain about the oline all they want. There were plays where we gave Russell plenty of time, and he made terrible throws. He was constantly overthrowing our WRs and it was almost like he was looking for double coverage to throw into.

I seriously wonder if the cold was affecting him. Has he ever played in that cold of weather?

Over and over no one blames Tyler or thinks he's the problem just saying Prescott should have been utilized more and better.

Russel threw off his back foot all night

And did not step into his throws. Our plays develop too slowly and that is a big part of the problem. Some of it is Tyler but some of it is coaching.

High throws have always been Russell's problems. Nerves, I guess, but whether its excitement or fear I wouldn't know. But, when he is off, he usually throws a little high. Last night was the worst I have ever seen from him, though.

I think you're right that the weather had something to do with it.

We really needed to hit TSUN with something that they were not ready for - the run option. If we would have countered their adjustments at halftime with a run-game that worked, this might have been a different story.

You might as well say that Mullen knelt on the ball in the 2nd half.
