Difference in Mullen 2009 and Freeze 2012......

We played the number 1 schedule in the country, with OOC losses vs. highly ranked Georgia Tech and Houston. They played Texas and 3 nobodies. Thus their extra win. Everything else is the exact same. Oh, except for the fact that Mullen was the exact opposite of historical MSU, which is exactly what we needed, and Freeze was historical Ole Miss, which was exactly what they needed after their war vs. their traditions.

Remember what you're saying now about Mullen when you're praising Freeze. VERY similar. And also remember that when wanting to schedule harder. 2009/2012 ended up being good years for both teams due to easy schedules too. Just eerie. And let's just hope next year doesn't go the way of 2010, for both teams. Now, if suddenly Russell declares for the draft like Snead did, I will start to wonder about the dead indians again......

Like I said

The key for us right at the moment is we have to look at making changes within the program. Not Dan as the head coach. But with the coordinators. That was something that Ole Miss didn't do after they lost to us. I guess they thought losing to us was a fluke or that Nix was too good of a recruiter to let go. I think if they had fired him sooner, they probably don't lose to Jacksonville State and then go 0-8 in the SEC the next year.

At this present moment all we can do as fans is wait until after our bowl game and see if there are any changes made and try to get answers about what we are going to do. If we make some changes as many on here are saying- we should be fine next year. If not, we'll have to suffer through next year and then maybe look at making more major changes at that point.

That's what sucks right now- we are in the waiting game mode.

We seriously need to replace Koenning and Wilson. I'll let our 4 blowout losses with lack of adjustments speak for themselves.

Good point, and to add to that.....look at the similarities between Chris Wilson and Tyrone Nix. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation, you have to be able to recruit, but you have to be able to coach as well.

some other differences include that freeze is a humble classy Christian that only recruits quality young men that put academics above athletics while mullen worships aliens, is an *******, and recruits thugs.

however i agree with everything you said.

Defensive coordinator is a different animal

than say, wide receivers coach. I'd rather have a guy that can scheme, make play calls at DC and I don't really care if he can recruit or not. If your OC/DC/or o-line coach can recruit it's a bonus in my book. But they MUST be able to coach. I can live with really good recruiters and average coaches as the position coaches. But they MUST be able to recruit.

If our DC is our only good recruiter on that staff, then we probably need to make wholesale changes. No bad DC is ever worth keeping for his recruiting ability alone. What good is his talent that he brings in if he can't use it properly?

We fired Croom for giving up 45 to them

Just something else for Dan to think about. Of course, our defense allowing more yards than our record setting offense should say enough.
