True. But I honestly didn’t think the calls were that bad tonight. They let them play. There were some bad calls on both sides. At the end when they took the ball from Carr he didn’t get fouled. They just took the ball from him. I imagine that’s a play that a lot of folks are mad about.
You’re wrong. Carr got raked by the backside defender just before the ball was stolen. He was also thrown down twice nearly flagrantly, and shoved in the back on the last play.

My takes are never popular when it comes to the whistle. I say control what you can control. He let himself get bullied. He has to either get rid of that ball or hang on to it. Get back in the weight room
Son!

And I got called an idiot for saying the refs intentionally put PJ Washington to the line over and over again because they knew he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat that night vs. K-State in the Sweet 16 in 2018. After looking it up, he was like just the first or second UK player ever to shoot 20+ free throws in a post season Tourney game. Then it was a double slap to UK's face the next year in 2019 when Auburn didn't get called for one single foul for like the last 9 or 10 minutes of regulation in the Elite 8. And yes, the last two minutes of this game was an absolute disgrace from the refs. They tried their best to rob UK of a well deserved win.

I'm telling you guys that refs are as crooked as it gets and they are on the take. They do crooked **** in games in ways you would never suspect, I promise you.

My favorite is how they will call non shooting fouls on us and shooting folks on the other team so that the fouls look even. All fouls are not created equal.

Yep. And just for example, if you were a ref and wanted to keep a Lakers game close in the early 2000s, wouldn't you put horrible free throw shooting Shaq on the line as much as possible ? I would. Doing that would almost be as good as a Lakers turnover the vast majority of the time. It also goes back to what you said, all fouls are not created equal. Calling a foul on an obvious flop or one where the shooter caused the contact on a three point shot and putting a 90% free throw shooter on the line and then putting a 50% free throw shooter from the other team on the line as a "makeup" call is not actually a make up call, it's just made to look like one.

We played like knuckleheads in the last 90
Seconds. What was it 3 dumb turnovers? Every one led to points. That’s on us.
The foul on oweh is the one I have the problem with. Was it a foul, yeah, from the view point you can find a foul every possession if you want. But they let them play the entire game then Oglesby decides to swoop in and call breathing a foul.

Every referee should be handed a dictionary they must carry with them with a book mark in the c's. When you open it the word consistency is highlighted.

I've said it before, they need to dumb the rule book down. Obvious fouls are obvious, etc. The focus is on that...and there's no time wasted on section 2a paragraph 4 stanza 3 : player A blinks with left eye lid when player B takes a step with dominant foot on Thursdays while wearing black shoe strings is a violation

These guys get graded more on their hand signals then they do actually being consistent and thats a problem. And the feel and consistency us the biggest factor. If you single any one play out it doesn't look as bad, but when you string all the possessions together and see how all over the place they are then you realize it's a toss up with these guys.

Oh and the and 1 on the 30 second continuation was the most absurd thing I've seen. Guy gets fouled at the hash mark but a layup counts

Yall crying over refs again. I was crying over turnovers and butt puckering in the last min. We are not the same.

Regardless, awesome win. Go cats. The espn guys are losing their **** over the game and a moment was made. The story is that much grander now.
What was said? I love seeing them seething like Seth Greenberg when Kentucky spoils it.

Duke was called for 5 fouls after Flagg's ankle broke in half and miraculously grew back together 30 minutes later. It was a Festivus miracle that the refs quit calling fouls on them after that.

We did some stupid thing the last 2 minutes like Amari throwing it right to the Oklahoma guy for a layup. Thats when it started, I'll bet you Perry is in the game next time we are trying to protect a lead, he will hit a free throw. Watch any other game the last minute or two and the refs will call a foul when 3 players converge on a guy with the ball and all you can see is arms flying and grabbing, Oweh and Carr were fouled repeatedly. Then Chandler runs close to Fears on a shot without touching and it's a foul ALL NIGHT on Kentucky. Also, they give somebody a continuation score driving to the basket after getting fouled he took three more steps, 3 refs don't see that, even Dykes said that usually don't count, why the hell did it last night? We won DESPITE the refs, and anybody who watched it KNOWS IT.

I like Dykes but he makes excuses for a ton of bad officiating. Vegas owed him a side cut.

You miss the point. Game wouldn't have been close, those 3 TOs wouldn't matter, if the game was called anywhere close to fairly. Oweh is fouled literally every time he drives, but rarely called. Meanwhile I guess we kept fouling Fears forearm with our bodies.
I saw probably 20 missed calls in that game last night, about 16-18 favored OKL and 2-4 favored UK.

You can only go so far when it is 5 on 8 almost every game you play.

we were fouled three times with no call...
It's like football, you can call holding on every play if you want to. Of course there will be some bad calls and you simply cannot control that. But the players still have to execute and play smart ball. You can't count on a whistle to bail you out. No more freaking excuses man. We turned it over multiple times. We have to be accountable.

And the refs have to do what they are getting paid to do. They didn't seem to have any problems calling them for any slight contact to Fears.
I agree, but you can't count on them to do a good job. To make an analogy, I coach baseball. I tell players all the time when they have 2 strikes they have to change their whole approach. The strike zone is now 6 inches bigger in every direction. The plate ump only has one moment to shine and it's whenever he gets to ring you up looking at a third strike. He's itching to do it. It's why he took the job and he lives for this ****. Do not give him the opportunity to insert himself in the game, swing the damn bat. Foul it off or put it in play but don't let that jackass dictate anything.

In short, I'm looking for the guys to play through a lot of these missed calls. Don't expect outside forces to bail you out. take care of the ball. foul or no foul you have to take some accountability. It was nice to see Oweh do just that in the post game interview. He wasn't crying about calls and neither was pope. They took accountably for those turnovers and I was glad to see it.

Nope. Rockyfly is just a moron.
I realize that my views on officiating is different than most. I don't cry enough to satisfy many of you. Three things are inevitable.....death, taxes, and bad officiating. Did you listen to pope and oweh after the game? They both took accountability for the turnovers and didn't mention the whistle once. Some of yall need to pay attention. Since you were an ******* I will leave you with my favorite retort to all things officiating.........

Blaming refs is for LOSERS.
