I agree and this is what I dont understand about Mullen.
While I was still capable of playing sports, from the beginning of high school through college, if someone was half-assing it, our coach sat their sorry butt. You can say what you want about mass/head scratching substitutions (which there are a lot of), but if someone isn't going to give "relentless" effort (your words Mullen, not mine), sit their 17ing *** on the bench and let them watch for the rest of the game.
Quay better have been suspended, because not using our only disruptvie DL in that game was a moronic decision of epic proportions. He may have played, but I sure as hell didnt see him nor did I see his name in the participation list.
I dont know whether Mullen has some sort of preference for upper-classmen because they have been in the program longer or whether these upper-classmen are truly better than some of the younger guys; but, the former is a Croom-esque approach to determining PT.
