I hope no one gets fired but geez even barchi seems sick of the constant turmoil with julie at the helm--yeah its the BOG, Pernetti, spies in the AD , the press , flood-- who else? the icy sidewalks the food??
I love the irony of one of the constant critics of Hermann from day one turning around to complain about the constant turmoil with her as our AD. It's like the kid who killed his parents, then begged the court for mercy because he was an orphan.

Who could we get that is better than Schiano though? We are not getting Les Miles or Herman.
You roll the dice.

5% chance you get a young Urban Meyer who just kills it.

10% you get a winner, like Schiano who runs a clean healthy program but not necessarily championships.

10% chance you get a mediocre .500 coach who keeps you a shade above the bottom feeders

75% chance you get a loser, like the guys Illinois, Purdue and Indiana have been bringing in with high hopes every five years over the last quarter century.

There are a lot of dreamers on the message board who want to roll the dice against tall odds. But you don't gamble with a $50 million football program. You hire Schiano, he's our Kirk Ferentz. A coach who had fans screaming to be fired but ran a great program that was always healthy enough that if a few things went right at certain position groups, he'd have runs with great years on the field.

That's where we are as a program, right now. So unless you can come up with the $9 million per it would take to get a guy to elevate the whole thing to another stratosphere, you take healthy and competitive and enjoy the runs on the field when they happen every four or five years with the hope that GS, with the B1G behind him and enough time to re-evaluate what he was lacking, just might have elevated himself into that upper tier of coaches who can take you all the way.

Sorry buddy, if the rumors and leaks prove true that both JH and KF are both gone, then history will read both you and Mr TV were wrong. It's ok, you went out on a limb with your prediction and in the end didn't get it right. Yea I know the situation is fluid and all of that crap you're now going to say, but in the end you will be wrong. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

And you think I care? Just reporting it for what it is as it comes. My ultimate goal is getting rid of Flood. I will go back into non poster mode once thats accomplished

We know that Rutgers hired a law firm that specializes in the evaluation of collegiate athletic departments to do a total review of all athletic functions, not just those Flood/Football related. The premier national high level firm that performs these types of tasks is 'Collegiate Sports Solutions'. I don't know for fact that this is the firm being used by RU, but if so there is an interesting sidelight to one of their employees. None other than Kevin MacConnell joined the firm in 2014 and is a prominent member of their investigative team.

Purely a guess on my part, but does it make sense that the MacConnell/Schiano team is headed bacf to the Banks of the Old Raritan?

Furthermore, I did not hear this idea at Subway!

3% you get a winner, like Schiano who runs a clean healthy program but not necessarily championships.

92% chance you get a loser, like the guys Illinois, Purdue and Indiana have been bringing in with high hopes every five years over the last quarter century.

Seriously Urban Meyer is probably the best college coach ever.

If what you're saying about Julie is true, then she absolutely needs to go. And Jesus H Christ if we go through this entire investigation, Julie gets fired, and Flood ends up staying, we should just give up D1 football.

They both need to go. We might be able to entice GS to come back if doofus is no longer the AD. Start with a blank page

I don't recall the circumstances where the term "protected class" was used in the thread but it has a legal definition and carries great significance under the law.

Just wait til one or both get fired and the Star Ledger prints endless articles of their lack of success and the buyout needed to be paid and deficit #s rehashed.

You won't see any article saying the administration is finally showing its prepared to support the athletic program. Which is what the same writers have been calling for all year.

The phrase protected class was used earlier, and inappropriately, in this thread. It is not relevant to the discussion. The federal laws, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and to a lesser extent Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, do not include the phrase protected class. Both laws prevent discrimination in employment on the basis of sex. That means they protect both men and women from discrimination. Neither law cover sexual preference. There are certain circumstances when sexual preference is covered under the sex discrimination basis, for example, if the individual is being discriminated against because he or she is not behaving in a manner expected of their gender. By the way, Title IX is not a very efficient way of getting at employment discrimination because it is really meant to protect the beneficiaries of federal financial assistance, which are usually the students. I don't recall if the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination deals with protected classes but I don't think that it does. At least it didn't in the early 70s when I was an investigator for the state agency that enforced the law.

Everyone keeps saying that Flood is crafty and there is a possibility (because of Rutgers ineptitude) that he may keep his job, but what's to say Herman is not able to make the same threats and keep her job?

Flood might have the "babe in the woods" approach, plus lawyer up as he is alleged to have done in the past, but Herman can lawyer up as well - especially as a diverse employee. That will also cause headaches for Rutgers. She can argue that Barchi hindered her, and she has her status as a diverse employee to give her some ammunition if Rutgers tries to strong arm her or fire her outright.

Headed back? maybe only in a paid advisory capacity? - make some big consulting fees to contribute to / lead a swift selection process ? - and then move on to address somebodyelse's mess. Sometimes guys sign on with consulting firms like this just for a period of time to be able to shop for a good landing spot & other times they do it and stay with the consulting firm because they have grown tired of the petty insider politics & disfunctionality that comes with being locked inside one university.

For the past two weeks we heard the report was toxic. I posted that. The report was obviously released on Monday to a select few. On Tuesday, people internally were stating the report was worse for JH than HCKF and that Barchi, while mad, would choose to kick the can down the road. He did not have the will nor the money to deal with a new coach and new AD. Flood was going to take JH with him if he went down.

What changed? Obviously someone or multiple members of the BOG clearly are bot buying the kick the can strategy of Barchi. They may be forcing his hand.

You can throw stones at me, TV, Scarlet Report or a handful of others who reported the same thing. Just know that everything I have posted at the time it has been posted has been verified multiple times.

Sounds like Greg Brown has got our backs.

I didn't push any agenda that was brought up here by others and the guys you mention, outside of the recently hired Perrier, are farther down the food chain in compliance no? I've looked up the name before but I can't remember who it was. I believe it was a woman and that person had left the job since TP was athletic director. It was a senior associate AD position like Perrier the new guy, it wasn't associate athletic director.

People were saying that position has been open for awhile and JH hadn't filled it. So I looked it up to see if that person had left since JH's time or TPs time and the person was gone since TP's time and JH never filled it until now I see Perrier filling it last month as you say.
We had enough & at high enough or adequate levels.

First time I read the article it seemed like a foregone conclusions that change was coming now. But, upon reviewing the tape, this another collection of linked assumptions by unnamed sources . "Presumably" " leaning towards" " possible". Either way it will be a long week. Lots of reasons a meeting could be scheduled.

However, if the report links lax enforcement to the AD, if, then change seems likely. I dont think there would be any "leaning towards" about it, which makes me question the whole story.

so now pernetti is to blame--give me a break-in some minds julie is responsible for nothing but cashing her check--when she came on board those in the know said she was a terrible administrator--maybe she as bad as her fans thinks she's good and it would be wise to make her accountable for a change rather than hiding her

Those in the know should be looking for new jobs too. If JH goes, the den of vipers that are the remaining AD employees will have been empowered by the results and by thinking that they were responsible for her getting fired. They will be therefor forever dissatisfied with anyone who would come in and shake things up or who doesn't give proper deference to the lunatics running the asylum. The back stabbing, leaks, and stream of real and perceived "problems" and slights will go on as long as they are there. For those who were not directly guilty of this but rather just sat back and did nothing, they had their chance to anonymously counter any of the crap that was leaked out over the last few years. They just sat back and let it all happen and were spineless. Sorry but there needs to be an Athletic Department fire sale.

That's possible I wouldn't know. I pay no attention to who the heck is running compliance or frankly most of the other areas of the athletic department. It was brought up here by others and so I looked it up to see at that time.

This is just a hunch. So please keep an open mind. When the Mike Rice incident happened which caused Tim Pernetti's firing I remember at least four high profile people in the media come out and support Tim while indirectly criticizing Barchi as an incompetent. Out of nowhere we see Chris Christie on network television giving Barchi a huge vote of confidence. Christie knew that without his puppet in place his ultimate goal to dismantle UMDNJ would have met serious obstacles. Moving forward, Rice is gone and Pernetti is gone and a search starts for a new AD. In that search committee sat an openly LGBT woman who pushed hard for Herman and borderline browbeat everyone into this hire. Now Rutgers has a mess on their hands because from what I heard your bigger donors (top 10%) have banded together and pulled back in order to stimulate her getting fired and potentially Flood. So how does Rutgers can her? A very difficult firing primarily due to her sexual orientation. But Rutgers got a few breaks, the arrests, athlete's on acedemic probation, suspension etc etc. Enter the Law Firm to make the case for both Herman & Flood to be fired and trust me it will work.

One other thing related to this thread that I find disturbing and really is a microcosm of RU and NJ culture is when people go after posters who put insider information out on this board. I get it, some people can be insufferable "know it alls" but then many of those same people who complain about them are the first to will turn around and lap up any juicy rumor that fits their point of view. If I had any inside information there is no way in hell I would post it on this board. No matter how true the initial information may be, situations change and directions get re-evaluated. People who work for a living (most people on this board) should know from their own organizations that until the outcome is announced anything can happen.

my god--anyone who thinks Hermann did not deserve criticism about her constant issues is blind or just dumb, blaming others makes you the child --- there were missteps after missteps some before she even stepped in the door--she gave ample ammo to make RU look like a clown college--if she's forced out, yes, her spy and confidant will leave--and raising $ by adding fees is not that great of an accomplishment and the women's soccer coach was at RU before her--that was just an easy hire--as I said for all you blind julietards--I want no one fired but if we are embarrassed again-fire her and flood

Julie isn't going anywhere, it isn't her fault that 1 person was doing the jobs of 2-3 others because she wasn't given the budget to hire enough competent people. Instead, she was forced to trust her coaches to do the right thing, Fludd screwed her over with his misdeeds. Her biggest mistake was giving him to much power/freedom to run the program. I guess she fell for the good guy act.

Here is what I think is going to happen, Fludd is definitely getting fired. Fludd and his agent are already threatening to sue because Julie is ultimately responsible for compliance...Barchi is doing his due diligence by reviewing Julie's performance, she will be given a reprimand and a stern warning to tighten the ship, Fludd gets fired and loses the arguement that his boss wasn't held to the same standard.

The only way Julie is let go, is if there is no clear way to fire Fludd without getting legitimately sued for keeping her. IMO this isn't a situation where it's one or the other, either they're both gone or Fludd is gone and Julie is reprimanded.

IMO, it's a smart move for the University to use the media to preempt Fludd's arguement, Fludd is done and unfortunately for Julie, she is going to have to take some lumps.

If Julie is let go, the irony would be that Barchi didn't give her the freedom to fire Fludd, but Barchi fires Julie because Fludd broke the rules and is a terrible coach. Should've let her fire him....by the way all of this is IMO, not a take it to the bank, lol.
How about just firing him and sending him off with a 1.4 mil check? Nothing to sue for. No, RU has to try to find a way out of paying a buyout and drags itself through the mud to do so.

First let me apologize for being white and male.
And heterosexual...I am guilty of all three.
I am just starting to understand my privilege.
Good thing we now have "Female Studies"
professors to enlighten us.

Why does JH meeting with Barchi indicate her job is in trouble?
Wouldn't she meet with Barchi re :
1) the report, and
2) whether they can spend the money to replace the coaching staff?

So, I decided to do a re-read to see if it came across differently ... and now I'm scratching my head - - the article that I thought was originally titled
" Flood & Hermann fighting for their jobs" - or words to that effect ...
now appears to have been re-titled:
"Rutgers' Julie Hermann, fighting for her job, is summoned by university President Robert Barchi"
Odd .... does this mean that that there has been further refinement of the nuances of what is being suggested? or is it just a bit of "musical headlines" to generate more clicks?

I can't be sure but I think there were other words changed in that article as well. Didn't a previous version indicate that all three sources thought she was going to get canned. Now only one does? Maybe i'm just imagining it?

Great, so the guy who didn't care enough to watch the Mike Rice video might now be in charge of hiring a new AD and football coach---can we get any more dysfunctional?

I hope this isn't true about Julie. I'd be more in favor of Barchi going than Julie, since her hands have been tied the whole time she's been here.

I could care less if Julie is fired AS LONG AS Flood goes as well. Flood was the bad hire imo. He had ZERO experience to be named head coach of anything above Division III. But for all those who hate Julie (either for her missteps or her lifestyle) she did have more experience on her resume for a AD job than the last 3 ADs, did she not?

Agree, but 66 was bringing it up so others would stop bringing it up which is why i am bringing it up. Focus on Flood's body of work. IMHO Herman has more time to establish a body of work to accurately judge,
