Julie isn't going anywhere, it isn't her fault that 1 person was doing the jobs of 2-3 others because she wasn't given the budget to hire enough competent people. Instead, she was forced to trust her coaches to do the right thing, Fludd screwed her over with his misdeeds. Her biggest mistake was giving him to much power/freedom to run the program. I guess she fell for the good guy act.
Here is what I think is going to happen, Fludd is definitely getting fired. Fludd and his agent are already threatening to sue because Julie is ultimately responsible for compliance...Barchi is doing his due diligence by reviewing Julie's performance, she will be given a reprimand and a stern warning to tighten the ship, Fludd gets fired and loses the arguement that his boss wasn't held to the same standard.
The only way Julie is let go, is if there is no clear way to fire Fludd without getting legitimately sued for keeping her. IMO this isn't a situation where it's one or the other, either they're both gone or Fludd is gone and Julie is reprimanded.
IMO, it's a smart move for the University to use the media to preempt Fludd's arguement, Fludd is done and unfortunately for Julie, she is going to have to take some lumps.
If Julie is let go, the irony would be that Barchi didn't give her the freedom to fire Fludd, but Barchi fires Julie because Fludd broke the rules and is a terrible coach. Should've let her fire him....by the way all of this is IMO, not a take it to the bank, lol.
