Tom Knotts is 62. His father Don was in the insurance business as was his Uncle Ernie Bear. Uncle Doug coached 35 years at the D1 level (Duke, Tenn, Florida, Colorado, and back to Duke). Other Uncle Jimmy. All four played at Duke. Bear and Doug were All Americans.

Andy Griffith was filmed in studio and on a lot in California.
