I like Sha. I like having such a passionate alum as our coach. But we can pay one of hundreds of other people at the division 1 and 2 level much less money to go under .500.

Shooting, spacing offense in general is terrible. Do they practice offense besides the weave? Defensive energy is not great. Has the team peaked already? Miss so many close in shots. Not good.

The performance today was pathetic, without question.

This is a Q2 loss. It does not end the season. It likely puts us in first four territory at least. SHU fortunately built up a lot of equity in the first half of the season. In some ways it's the reverse of two years ago when they spent the Big East schedule making up for the poor non-conference performances.

That said, think it's fair to say that Wednesday is an absolute must win. Not just because of the metrics but because this team has completely forgotten how to win.

If you brow beat everyone why should anything change???????!
Agree that should stop. And all the announcers and color commentators keep harping on it about what it is like to play for Sha. Nobody is suggesting to run a country club but this stuff is too much.

I don't see us as still in at this point. When I think that we lost at MSG and still we went up 4 points in the NET I believe even with a W at 112th ranked Depaul, we should have expected to go down in NET. Couple that with a loss to a team that will likely being ranked around 100 NET tomorrow, I expect to see us around 55 in NET after this loss. Rooting hard for KSU to beat Kansas tonight because we really don't have a decent 2nd win. It would be nice to have a a few good big wins at 55 as a reason to believe we'd be in but we don.t

I’ve given myself a reality check before I threw the TV out the window.

Did anyone expect this team to have this record at this point? Not the first January swoon we’ve ever seen. My expectations became unrealistic at 14-2. Relax and see how things play out.

Idk if it’s over with a Q2 loss, but we now have to earn our way back to the Bubble. We gave it all away.

It's not "over" right now, but the declining quality of play and the remaining schedule (few quality win opportunities, but plenty of loss opportunities), strongly suggest that Seton Hall will not be in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The writing is on the wall for any who care to pay attention.

Hard to relax watching this team's half court offense

If we made 2024 I wouldn't be as upset and irate. I will never forgive NCAA, SEC, Big 12, Big 10, and that POS undeserving MWC getting 6 bids and left our 13-7, fourth in BE Seton hall team.

I just felt it was a clear hate and corruption towards not just us but Big East. I just feel seeing these disgraceful losses and play, that we will never be in tournament that willb e relegated to not just below a pathetic joke like undeserving Depaul with no respect to basketball but even trash like NJIT. Like I just feel it's hopeless man. Ever since Covid it has been frustration and disgrace to those Whitehead, Delgado, and Powell teams.

I know we should always have low expectations, but I really believe and want us to always have a chance in the tournament like a Creighton or Xavier. We have a passion for basketball and New Jersey deserves a NJ team.

I have also tried to distance from the NBA which has affected me negatively. It's not perfect with NCAA, but at least I can follow and love a team like my own like I used to with the Nets.

I'm just frustrated cause I believe we have better potential and just feel NCAA stole something that we deserved and this season seems like an insulting joke to rub how we will always be a joke while undeserving corrupt SEC schools get bids even if there teams win 19 games cause of their so called non basketball loving conference.

And If Nil didn't exist that probably would make feel much better cause we didn't have to worry about money. TBH I actually agree we should move to a smaller conference. TBH being in A-10 and competing with Dayton and Richmond gives us a better chance to win consistently and make the tournament a decent amount if money is sued right. We don't have money to compete in a bigger conference, but I want to be part of this but NCAA has failed us so bad.

It’s definitely not over. Not even close. But I’m losing confidence in our ability to turn this one around. We are getting worse.
I usually will look for a path in. However, the offense is shutting down piece by piece. Almost every player is declining. Maybe Josh Rivera is at least brining some toughness, but even he is not finishing and is struggling at the line. What are we the fans to do? We can't give up, but the coach is who he is. Let's see what happens.

I know and I agree it looks bad. And the coach's commentary and emotions drive me nuts at times. But during this streak we also led SJU by 15 with 15 to play and were down by 1 to Connecticut with 40 seconds remaining. I just am not all doom and gloom like everyone else predicting the worse.

I've watched a lot of teams over the decades. I've seen teams slump badly and find a way around it. Let's see what happens. A 4-game swoon and the way we're playing offense is scary, I agree. We have a one-dimensional coach. And speaking of stat trends, we're so down now, we need a bump back to the averages.

But I'm not bowing out at 14-6, 4-5. Maybe at 4-7 if we lose at home to the dregs of the league, LOL.

I'm writing this season off as another bust. Defense will keep you in games but if you cannot put points on the board you WILL lose. Sha must recruit players that can hit a few outside shots. Until he does, we are heading down the same path.
At least lacrosse season starts with Hopkins on 1/31 (way too early) but it's something to look forward for.

Perplexing team. But a couple of wins can turn things around.

I predicted 4-6 BE wins before the season started. Then I was more than happy to admit I was dead wrong after the Creighton game. C’mon Sha; this is when you have to get a handle on things.

If the season was over today, SH would be a bubble team - for the Not Invited Tournament. 😰😱

why do our big east PG coaches not know how to coach offense?
We’ve had 3 big east players as coaches Orr, Willard and Sha. All of them focused on defense, none of them great offensive coaches. The first 2 got to the tournament in 40% of their seasons here. Can Sha do that too? Might need 15 years at the helm.

Sha has done a terrible job with point guards. He actually does better job with bigs than point guards. Insane for a former point guard.

We should be totally out now, but close to the Bubble on that side. At 14-6, 4-5 with a NET of #56, 1-2 Q1, 4-4 Q2, we should be out. Our best win is #27. Who else have we beaten? Creighton is #61, Kansas State is #89. Those are the other good wins. While DePaul was Q2, they're #105.

Look, we get rematches with St. John's, Connecticut, and Villanova. So there's hope. We get the BET. But the way we are playing is so bad, who knows what could happen. And while we technically did not have a bad Q3+ loss, you saw how we played against Butler and at DePaul. C'mon. That's not an NCAAT team at the moment.

I'm sticking to my original breakdown of 23-9, 12-8 as the goal. That's still Bubble but I think was the reasonable mark for this group after having 8-12 in preseason. They're not as bad as they've looked lately and even in that skid had St. John's and Connecticut on the ropes, then rolled over in the next two games.

Let's see how they respond with Xavier and Marquette this week. Now those would be torpedoes. It's back against the wall time. Need to be 16-6, 6-5 with some momentum for next week's road trip at Villanova on 2/4 then at Creighton on 2/7.

1-3 vs. Connecticut and St. John's. (currently 0-2)
3-3 vs. Villanova, Creighton, & Butler (currently 1-2)
8-2 vs. Providence, Marquette, DePaul, Xavier, Georgetown (currently 3-1)

Clark is 4th in the BE with 4.5 assists per game on a very poor shooting team. They are last in shooting. Probably on any other team in the BE he would be close to being #1 in assists. So that metric is important in judging how your point guard is doing. Sure he has other issues but he is doing what a point guard is supposed to do. He was never a 3 point shooter and that is not going to change. He needed to be surrounded by 3 point shooters and he was not!
