My brother-in-law said last week that they’re both gone. That probably explains Rhule’s grim demeanor before the Iowa game. I think this move was dictated by either his GM or the boosters/alums. My BIL said this group of players has no love for Donovan. He knows lots of people inside the offices soooo ….
If this is true it gives me some hope that NU’s administrators and boosters have some sense. You cannot let a player and his family put themselves above an entire program.

I’m still NOT going to lay all the blame on Donovan for our struggles. There were in fact factors out of his control that contributed greatly. That said, I think this change is probably good. Time for a fresh start. Garrison would be a home run but I’m not sure he won’t have some of the same issues.

Donnie boy had been here longer than anyone. There's zero excuses for the crap product he put out year after year. Good riddance, and let's remove all references of Raiola, Frost, and Alberts from the program. They're all out for themselves pieces of ****.

No excuses. Several logical reasons that contributed to our problems. We can maybe do better if we can find somebody who isn’t concerned about Rhule’s job security.

You said it yourself there's no reason to be concerned about his job security. His buyout is something like $71 million at the moment. We're stuck with him minimum 2 years with Dannen's idiotic extension.

I wonder if this was discussed beforehand with Dylan or Dom and what their reaction will be. You'd have to think they would have mixed reactions since Dylan wasn't being protected very well by his Uncle.

Clearly though Rhule feels the heat and changing the DC and the OL assistant coaches had to be done if Rhule wants to keep his job. Rhule needs to hire those two assistants with careful consideration like he hired the ST coach last year.

A new OC would be nice as well, imo. But it doesn't look like that will happen.

Yeah I’m not so sure about that anymore. IF Dylan leaves, we’re EXTREMELY thin at QB. TJ’s injury might be more serious than we think. IF a new DC struggled as well, a 3-4 win season could force a change regardless of the cost. Assistants see coaches getting axed with huge buyouts. Why would they think we wouldn’t do the same leaving them looking for work and having to move their family again?

Vince Kehres who was just in Lincoln interviewing and is reportedly going to coach at Syracuse instead.
I can see two reasons why Kehres is not with the Huskers. 1. He was not offered the job. His interview was just a formality as Rhule already has his new DC coach selected. 2. Kehres learned from the interview that he wanted no part of Matt Rhule experience because no smart coach would choose Syracuse! over a Big Ten school unless he had a very good reason.

3. He views Syracuse as a more stable situation with lower expectations and an easier schedule.
