Don't know how to feel about this one

On one hand I'm proud of the way we played and happy that we hung with the no. 4 team and didn't get blown out like last year.

On the other hand I'm incredibly frustrated. Why can't we pull these games out? I want the days of being content with a close game against a good team over and done with.

It was s tough loss but there were definitely some positives. Offense looked good on a few drives. Carroo looks nearly unstoppable (too bad we don't have him for another year). We had s pass rush. Our dbacks looked like they're inproving. Pass coverage was better than what we've seen - we often got beat by great passes/catches.

It is hard for the underdog to win especially when a top 80 team is playing a top 20 team. If it was so easy, he underdog winning wouldn't be much off a story. Anything worth doing is hard.

We ran down sparty's throat on multiple drives.
The oline played well, minus a few missed assignments on blitz pickups that allowed msu to get some major shots on our QB.
Msu's WRs won them the game. They were awesome and #16 is as good as you'll see.
We tackled better than we have since courtney Greene was at safety.

This team will be good over the next few years. We can play w our division. And next year, easier cross over games.

Indiana hung with Ohio State, couldn't tie late like we did, then laid an egg on road today.

We let it all hang out tonight and fought, credit to team. Can't let down at Indiana who I'm sure sees us like we see them, a possible win. We need it if we think we can go bowling. Not sure if sudfeld will start.

To OP's Question of why can't we pull these games out - last year we played five games which could have gone either way, and won four of them. This year we are 0 for 2. Maybe it is just reversion to the mean. Some of us predicted that we would be a better team than last year but have a worse record, for that reason.

Reversion to the mean has something to do with it, but that also has to do with the amount of experienced players you have out there.

The defense took major hits in the dismissals.

When it comes down to the nitty gritty, they can't make stops.

WSU & MSU were winnable if the secondary could make a few plays.

feel good that the team played a competitive game and had a chance to win

feel good that the coaching staff adapted their ways to risk failure to reap rewad

feel good that the players are still chopping after shaky start the first four games and the offseason nonsense by the players and their head coach

feel cautiously optimistic but guarded.

I think we will know a lot more on how to feel about this team after next week.

Saw in the paper today.

Nebraska has lost 4 games by 11 points. All losses have occurred on their opponent's final offensive play.

MSU did score on a play that COULD have been called offensive pass interference (BTN crew said it was a push off).
