But would it not work out better in the long run for ole miss to have this guy on next years team as opposed to this years team? You take a team that is not "supposed" to be all that good this year and you make them only marginally better, you go from the music city to the liberty bowl, possibly peach, is that really enough of a difference to argue this much over? On the flip side, you brng him in for next year and you coach him for a full year and recruit around him, would you not be a much better team with him next year over this year with him? Right now they are making themselves look really bad with the arguing and whining about this ruling when you could just "agree" with the ruling and create a better football team for next year.

Or are they arguing this so hard right now because deep down they feel that if he cant play this year that he won't be there to play next year for them? I agree it does suck royally for them right now, but could be great for them in the long run if they just hadle it tactfully....

And Masoli is the difference between a bowl this season and no bowl this season for the Rebels, so I completely understand why they're so desparate to get him on the field this fall. Not to mention that they're not necessarily supposed to be much better next year anyway. They lose most of their defense.

Masoli is a ready made QB with experience and the resume. Ask yourself, when is the best time for him play?

1) A year where you have a JUCO Jr. QB who's taken no snaps, or a RSo. who's never started a game and had minimal snaps
2) A year where you have a JUCO Sr. QB who's taken a few snaps, and a RJr. who's gotten some experience in mop up duty.

No sense in him waiting til next year, he was recruited to play now, essentially taking Snead's place. If anything, you have a guy who starts as a sophomore, then gets benched as a junior?

what my point is, with the ruling from the ncaa, would it not be a better "PR" move to just tactfully accept the ruling and teach him the offense for next season. Voluntarily you start him saturday, but with the cards that have been dealt, i would think that it would make more sense for them to accept it and do whatever it takes to make masoli stay for next year. Right now all they are doing is making themselves look retarded!

This ain't about PR. This is about trying to get to a bowl game this year.</p>

This year they will be VERY good defensively but very weak offensively. Next year they should be better offensively than defensively.
