Not a basketball guy. Never played, never watched much beyond Mississippi State. I just wondered if basketball could benefit from a more defined division of labor in the coaching staff. The generic assistant coaches, probably focus on specific tasks, but it's not emphasized in the same fashion as other sports.
Baseball has hitting coaches, infield coaches, pitching etc. Football has position coaches and coordinators. Why not basketball?
I don't care enough about basketball to give a **** if I embarrass myself with this, but maybe it's time we go full Arizona State and change the model. If ever a basketball team needed an offensive coordinator, its this one. I imagine it's to late to teach college kids to shoot, that's one of those 10,000 hours deals... But damn, let's scheme some stuff better.
Keep Howland. Let him recruit, manage game, manage D. Get somebody that can teach the offensive half court.
