Everything about our offense is terrible. Why is peters in the middle of a zone trap?

What a 17n embarrassment. UM absolutely sucks and just beat our *** because we couldn’t hit a shot the last 10 minutes

That was pitiful. Have a 10 point lead the entire game and then implode in the closing minutes. I'm sick of this one step forward, two steps back program

You're being overly dramatic here. We had a 10 point lead for 2:09 of the first half and for all of 18 seconds in the second half.

They did already last year. They said this would be the year. Two games in to conference play and we already have a resume crippling loss.

I like Howland but it's on him that he allowed us to continue shooting threes down the stretch against that 1-3-1. I know many of them were open looks, but newsflash, we don't make open looks from three very well either.

Not a basketball guy. Never played, never watched much beyond Mississippi State. I just wondered if basketball could benefit from a more defined division of labor in the coaching staff. The generic assistant coaches, probably focus on specific tasks, but it's not emphasized in the same fashion as other sports.

Baseball has hitting coaches, infield coaches, pitching etc. Football has position coaches and coordinators. Why not basketball?

I don't care enough about basketball to give a **** if I embarrass myself with this, but maybe it's time we go full Arizona State and change the model. If ever a basketball team needed an offensive coordinator, its this one. I imagine it's to late to teach college kids to shoot, that's one of those 10,000 hours deals... But damn, let's scheme some stuff better.

Keep Howland. Let him recruit, manage game, manage D. Get somebody that can teach the offensive half court.

The shooting, combined with an inability to attack a zone. They kind of go hand in hand, I guess, but all season we have shown very little ability to work the ball inside against zone defenses. That leaves us shooting from the perimeter, and we have absolutely sucked at that. Even the 1-3-1 zone we made very little effort to dribble in and dish to Ado.

Shooting is on the players, I guess, but the offense effort against the zone is coaching.

Agreed. And I will add we do not have a go to player right now. Should be Q but he was terrible tonight and I have no idea why. No one was able to step up and take that role.

Someone had to grab the rest of his team by the gonads and get them back into the game after the 10 point run by the Land Carps. All we got was three consecutive threes that clanked when we were driving to the basket with success earlier.

It was like they had never seen a half court press and just stood around tossing the ball across the time line.

Very disappointing.

Is it possible to shut a sport down and allocate those intended monies towards football and baseball?

You cant dish the ball to Ado because he cant shoot the ball. When have you seen a guy his size who have virtually no moves or shooting ability. That is why we shoot so many 3's and dont get the ball inside. Our scoring comes almost totally off drives to the basket and fast breaks after turnovers.

And the only one I felt good about was the last open one Carter shot that rattled in and out. The worst, outside of all of X's, was Nick passing up an open 3 and then shooting a contested one 3 seconds later.
