I've got a hard time thinking that Dylan is swayed by NIL money. His family is so close - his mother is his assistant coach that I'm thinking that family wins at the end of the day. His mother will be a regular at the RAC to see him play - just like she did with RHJr.

While I feel you, I think it is naive to think it is completely irrelevant.

Take the article with a grain of salt. It was written with a Duke lean. Notice how it talked about if they get Harper, Duke would move to #2 in the composite ranking behind UNC. The article failed to mention Rutgers is #2 without a commitment from Harper. Also, the article was based on the NIL being the driving force. No mention of Harper's connection to Rutgers (brother) or how Harper's mother is a big factor. And let's not forget Rutgers has NIL to compete. The bottom line is you can't get mad because the author is writing to appease their fanbase.

Agreed. Very biased article.

Won't stop the resident NIL pumper though.

I'm guessing the Harpers are not a family that will make decision based solely on NIl. Especially since you can get nil anywhere and a top 3 player in the nation can get big nil money wherever. Irregardless, NYC area has so many options available as far as endorsement money and NIL...doubt north Carolina is comparable..

Never know. Might not even be about NIL but just wanting to go to a more historic program. I’ve been a RH Senior follower for a while on Twitter and when he retweets articles about Dylan or comments on people where is Dylan going I just don’t get positive vibes about RU from the responses

Interesting that we may finally benefit from a family member “steering” a recruit.

Usually it’s everyone complaining about family members steering a recruit away from Rutgers.

The perception of the program has certainly improved.

Those who comment about Rutgers lacking a chance to gain Harper's service due to NIL are clueless. The few times Richie has posted on the freeboard, he has mentioned Rutgers (basketball) is positioned well with NIL money. You don't have the #2 class without having access to NIL to obtain that level of talent.

Mom is running the recruitment not Ron Sr. Richie has mentioned this more than once in the podcasts. You should give them a listen to stay abreast of these things.

No Duke fan would want to read that they are competing with Rutgers for a player and no Duke writer would write it. They might all know it.. but it is not something that would be talked about in public...

NOT YET, anyway.

But this group of recruits can make that happen.. quite easily too.

Grab the basketball world by the ankles and shake it around then slap it on the *** and hear it cry.

Don't try to use this logic on TOS...

Well, not sure how awed Dylan would be given HIS DAD had a long NBA career and won rings.
Rebecca Lobo, in her hall of fame induction speech had a part about her coaching her daughter on some detail and her daughter saying that's not how coach D told her to do it. Lobo replied "Coach D is a 5'10" orthodontist".

Some people beat the same drum without listening to or reading posts that address the topic of Rutgers' NIL situation. This is how perception rules the day. Nothing factual, just random thoughts running wild.

In the end Dylan , his mom and dad will figure it all out. At this time Rutgers has several things in its favor. Mom ( alum) and dad know the program, have an NBA son ( Ron Jr. a Rutgers grad)? Ace Bailey his close friend and 4 other top level players in 2023- 2024…Griffiths , Jamarcus Michaels , Lathan Somerville, and several portal kids. As the podcast mentioned if NIL $$$$ is the reason Rutgers will find it? Not sure I feel comfortable believing that.

His mom played basketball at the University of New Orleans. Unless she went to grad school here, she is not an alum.

I like his real name better... Hopefully he won't be offended if he sees the post... 😉

Mostly to just Let Dylan do his own things when asked about when is he committing to insert team here etc. idk just seems like Dad thinks he should blaze a path on what Dylan wants himself is all, not feel the pressure of being a legacy per say. Not saying he isn’t a fan of that, just seems like RHSenior wants him to experience the recruiting process as a whole and take everything into account, not necessarily just go where his brother played etc

That’s cool I’ve listened to some here and there. I don’t follow mom on twitter and I only follow RHSenior cause I liked him as a basketball player and RHJ went here. I do highly doubt Mom is the only one involved
