Who would have thought EG would be in the 3rd round at the beginning of the season, but here we are… haha. I don’t think the last game between Shelby and EG is an indicator of how next Friday night will go. East Gaston is playing on house money and has nothing to lose. Should be a great atmosphere Friday night in Shell Town. Shelby is obviously a great team with a ton of talent. EG will need to play a mistake free football game to have any type of shot.

Tall task for my Warriors. Last game against Shelby was over after the 1st qtr. Probably the worst half of football we played all year. I guess we line them up and see what happens. Win or lose, it's been a magical season for EG.

I don’t know about a great atmosphere, our fans are spoiled and will not show up for this game. Y’all probably have more fans there then we do

I've been disappointed by our fan base last 2 weeks, I do know weather and temps have changed, but it's been crazy I bet maybe 1200 people if that.
I do know it's always been to where better team u play more people will show.
Guess us diehard will be there no-matter what.

I'm little worried bout this game, we know EG is big, strong and fast at Rb position.
There playing with nothing to lose.
I worry our kid want get up for this game cause they pretty much blew them out in 1st half last game.. probably feeling it happen again,
But East will be coming to play.
Talked to Justin Hill today, there just excited to be this deep and playing us again...
Good luck to East but let finish this mission Shelby.

We have the same fan problem in Reidsville.....people go ho hum and don't show up for the games....you would think a school that is 83-2 over the last six seasons with 4 titles over that span, that there would be standing room only.......I think there will be a bigger crowd this week versus Hendersonville...and I can guarantee that if the Rams win and travel to Shelby the next week....then the Shelby fans will fill the stands up...........

It is called spoiled. Plus times are harder now with gas prices and inflation and the holidays coming up. If both teams are lucky enough to win this week there will a lot of high school football fans not associated with either team show up to watch that one.

Only the 2nd time East Gaston has been to the 3rd round. Do you reckon anyone from the Stanley-Mt Holly area will be there? We probably out numbered Community School of Davidson at their place, 3 to 1.
I’d be there… raising immortal hell… for y’all!!!…..but the daggum Hornets are coming to Maiden. 😉
Hoping everybody embraces the mindset of……ain’t got nothing to lose! Go Warriors!

If any of the other three teams in Rockingham County were in the third round of playoffs, they would be selling advance tickets and have a SRO crowd. Spoiled is the word for sure for Reidsville fans.
Still wish NCHSAA would allow for discounted student tickets (maybe free).

Not to derail the thread but I don’t think it’s that bad

Shelby fans are the same way. Spoiled and usually not a great showing. You would think there would be more and the kids should expect more.

used to be an old saying....."Winning brings contempt"...I think that is patently true in Rockingham County, as the other 3 high schools and their fans (for the most part) hate Reidsville..................

Eg fans, what does the future look like? Seems like most of the production is coming from seniors is it a reload or rebuild after this?
Hoping you guys pull it out this week

For the most part, we will be re-building. We have some good young talent, but we'll have to see how quick they gel with what we have returning.

Anybody who can't come up with $7 or $8 bucks a week needs to stay home anyway. When I was a kid in school, I had a job! I didn't get to see many games myself. I sure as hell didn't expect NCHSAA or anybody else to subsidies my entertainment. Let's Go Brandon.

#24 East Gaston at #1 Shelby - a rematch from a 10/22 lopsided affair in which Shelby won 62-28

EG has averaged a score of 39-28 this season and 49-30 in the playoffs. I believe they are a good team...but I also believe they have benefitted from the bracket layout. The rubber meets the road for EG in week 3.

Shelby has averaged 46-17 this season and 48-12 in the playoffs. Per usual Shelby starts to gain their momentum going into the playoffs and are peaking at the right time. They'll have another easy week to get some kinks in their armor sorted.

This game will be closer than last time...but still not close.

When I was in college we got in all the NCAA games free. In reality I know it was most likely a hidden part of tuition, but I like to pretend it wasnt.
